In Calontir AoA awards are pre-prints which are designed anew each reign. Typically the style reflects the persona of the Crowns. A Royal Scribe is chosen to see that the pre prints are painted and the recipients name etc filled in. Ideally this person does the calligraphy on the original and the filled in preprints so that the text flows. For painting we encourage everyone to use gouache. I made example sheets for people to look at but the scribes were not bound by them.
Some people think that preprints are horrible things. I hope this website illustrates that there are many positives to using pre-prints for AoA level scrolls.
