| August 20, 2002 The tour guide just picked me up from my hotel. As always, they're early! Alhamdulillah, it's a gorgeous day - bright & sunny! =) We're in like a 30-seater van heading to the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves. My stomach is hurting this morning... I gulped down my OJ b/c just as I had gotten breakfast the guy came. I wish this guy would put on some music! I am writing briefly as we board the van from Jenolan Caves. The Blue Mountains were not very exceptional (i think ppl had hyped them up too much), but the caves were spectacular! More to come later... I thought that the Blue Mts. and the Three Sister Rock Formation would be this amazing structure, but to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't all that great when compared to the other things I've seen in my life. As always, maybe I had these extraordinarily high expectations that could not have been met... hmm. I saw the Scenic Railway which is the steepest railway in the world. If the same thing were in the U.S. there would be a lot more safety measures! I have to say that the railway impressed me. Jenolan Caves were AMAZING! We took a tour of Lucas cave, and it was just awesome =) They told us a buncha historical events along the way, but since I wasn't writing it all down I forgot much of it. Something that amazed me was that they had built a Church in the cave. They also had regular prayer services and it was open to the public - how great! The acoustics were nearly perfect b/c the guide played some music for us. When he turned off all the lights, it became pitch black! I have never been in a darker place before. |

| On our way back, we visited the huge Olympic Stadium site where the 2000 games had been held. It was quite massive. The site was completed in March 2000 and cost 590 million bucks. | ||||||||||||
