| Australia... it was a land that I had wanted to visit since I was a little girl. I was fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to travel to OZ for two months during the summer of 2002. While a junior at Hopkins, I had applied for the Vredenburg scholarship that allowed students at Hopkins to go abroad to study or to intern during the summer months. I was ecstatic when I was told I had received the scholarship! Soon afterwards, I landed an internship at Queensland Cement Limited (QCL) in Brisbane, Australia. I left the U.S. at the end of July, a few days after my 21st birthday =) While in Australia, I religiously kept a journal about my experiences in the new land... I will share with you some of the entries as they probably will portray more of what I was feeling when I was there. Some moments only a photo can capture, so I will share some of those as well.
