Last Day in Australia

.... I write as we take off from Brisbane.  As I left for the airport with F., I told her family they had truly been my family away from home =)  Uncle asked me to pray for them on the plane.  F. and I talked until the very end at the airport... until it was time for me to board.  I'm horrible at goodbyes... I also feel quite incoherent at this point.  Tired, sleepy, a bit sad...

Yesterday J. said I was wearing a nice hijab (yes, J. actually used the term hijab)!  I am really glad I could educate him about my religion (hopefully in a positive way)... and learn so much from him about Australia, education, the work-life, etc.

Leaving this beautiful land today I feel blessed and honored to have had this amazing opportunity to visit and work in Australia and to have met the wonderful people I met.  Thank you, God =)

On the plane they had a documentary on Steve Irwin which I watched.  He said, "If you remember me for one thing, remember me for my passion and enthusiasm... conservation!"  I liked what he said... enthsiastic ppl absolutely rock!  Apathetic ppl suck.

Today is the most excited I have ever been in my life to go home.  When I start thinking of all I have to share and show my family, I can't bear the thought of being on a plane for the next 25+ hours.  It's amazing how within hours you can be transported from one part of the world to a totally different and removed part of the world.  Even more ironic... I left Brisbane at 7:10 am and will arrive in LA at 7:20 am....
