Most Recent Additions - Turtles

First off, I'd like to thank all of you in taking interest in the new members of the Khan family =) Yes, all 3 of them are quite lovely, and they sure do have their own personalities. This page is to help you all get aquainted with the little ones... and, of course, I would really appreciate your help with naming the babies... I do have some ideas, so I will let you know, but more suggestions are definitely welcome and appreciated!

Before going on to see and name our turtles, let me tell you a little bit about them. They are red-eared slider turtles, which means they are aquatic turtles. They are all between 4 and 10 months old... really young in turtle life =) I hope, with the help of God, they will spend the next 30 years of their lives with me... in a healthy environment, they should live between 20 to 30 years - how exciting!! That's why I got them a complete kit including a 20 gallon aquarium, water heater, filter, food, treats, lots of toys and decorations, sulfa blocks, ramps they can dive off of, etc. I hope they enjoy their new home even though one of their favorite places to hide is behind the filter... grrr.

I think finding a suitable name for a pet is pretty important. This is why I have waited, comtemplated, and most of all - observed - my turtles before naming them. I think the name should definitely compliment the personality. Without further delay, let's introduce you...

I know you can't really see all of them reallllly well, but let me help. You can probably tell by this picture that one of them is extremely super extra crazy hyper (he tried to commit suicide ALREADY - that story to come later)... so, the one that is climbing up is suspect # 1 aka the 'crazy one'. It's easy to tell all of them apart because of their distinct shells. The 'crazy one' has the darkest shell out of all of them, and s/he is medium in shell size. By the way, they are too young to be able to tell their gender, but I requested a mix of males and females. Suspect # 1 has two very interesting stories already... if you have the time, you can go here to read about them. Otherwise, I'll just let you know that s/he is a crazy little critter who is always very curious but sweet, jumping around when s/he should be sleeping, trying to get to the food before the other two do, experimenting by jumping outta the aquarium and diving 3 feet only to land on plush carpet, trying to amuse you by having a staring contest with you, too hyper to stand still in your hands.... I think you get the idea. Here are some suggestions I have:

Nemo, Dani (from Daniyal), Majnoon, Junooni, Manu, Humayun

Suspect # 2 aka 'lazybones' is the middle one in the picture above. He is the most lazy out of all of them, in my opinion. He likes to sleep, relax, sleep some more, eat food, sleep again, and he gets annoyed by the 'crazy one'. Here are some names I came up with:

Uni, Akbar, Shahjahan, Shan, Heba

Suspect # 3 aka the 'tiny one' is the one to the upper most right. S/he has an arched shell and is the smallest one out of all three. S/he is a cutie, except when you try to pick him/her up. The 'tiny one' has fast little legs that can escape any hold you may have on him, so be careful... you may be the one with the scratches when the funs over! Here are some names:

Chutu, Aurangzeb, Archie, Mini, Dunya, Dua'a
