| Tenth Letter |
| My Daddy. . . I didn't realize how reading his letters and putting it together for this web page would affect me. I read the letters with tears in my eyes. I feel his pain of leaving loving parents, his home, friends and Sport. My heartfelt thanks and prayers go out to the soldiers and their families for their sacrifice to keep this great country free and safe. I knew so little about my Daddy, the person. As children we knew our parents as just that . . . parents, someone who took care of us, made us happy and healed our hurts. We, sometimes, don't realize until much later in life that they were much more than just our parents. There is an empty place in my heart when I think about them with all their expectations of life, the joys, the heartaches, love given and received. I wish I could have them back just one day . . . what a difference a day would make. |
