Christmas

December 18, 2000

We spent fours days last week at Lazy Days in Tampa.  We enjoyed a "Christmas at Lazydays" Rally and also did some shopping at Camping World.  The Rally Park is great..beautiful facilities and of course, looking through all the motor homes we can't afford was fun, too!     Both of us also took a class about driving RVs and picked up some good tips.

This week we're back to household chores for Tom's folks.  And, although it is much cooler than is was last week, we certainly don't have the snow and wind chill that Ohio does.  However, we do plan to leave here Friday, the 22nd to drive to Marysville for Christmas.

When we arrived in Bradenton, we found a place to park the Bounder at the Pleasant Lake RV Resort.  We're on a "pull-through site" with full hook-ups facing a small lake.  Our site even has palm trees...a little different for a Christmas tree.  We've attended several of the social events at the park and have enjoyed walking the two miles of streets in cool to warm temperatures.  But it still seems strange to see people in shorts shopping for Christmas trees and out decorating their houses.

During the day we have been busy helping Tom's parents take care of various household and medical chores.  We're learning our way around Bradenton quite well.  Tom's Dad remains in a care facility and his Mom is getting along fairly well at home now.

We drove in one 18 hour day from Bradenton to Marysville and spent a wonderful week with Matt, Ann and girls.  It was a Merry, Merry Christmas, although we missed being with the rest of our family.
