RADAR
Dear…Everyone,
It sure was great to hear from you all. So much has gone on without me there. I know you all wanna read this, but there’s parts that only certain people can read – private stuff. You can all read the end bit though.

To Colonel Potter:
Thanks about the farm. I got a call from the guy who can help and he’s coming down next week! I’m glad your Spring Fair was just as good. The jams that Mrs Potter wrote to Ma really helped too. First time she came 2nd! Ma said I was the same when I lost my teeth too. 17 hours of surgery must have been fun. I remember when they built a bar in the Swamp a few years ago – they only got to use it once though. I’m glad that Klinger’s got a hang of it too. I hope you have fun on R&R next week. I’m sure the 4 of them will keep the place running (smoothly – I’m not sure). The no-talent show sounds really fun, but knowing Hawk and BJ – the place will be in total disasters. The 4 of them playing jokes sounds like a handful. I’ve only read yours, Father Mulcahy and Major Winchester’s letter so far and I don’t know what you mean about Hawk’s new roommate. I’ll find out in the end though I guess. Hope to hear from you soon (and in person too).

To Major Winchester:
I don’t have much to say but thanks. For what you said about me and coming to the Cape too. I hope you can come and visit us too – I know it isn’t the Hilton or anything, but it’s clean.

To Father Mulcahy:
Thanks about all the things you said. I wish you could be our celebrant – I wouldn’t want anyone else to be. I hope to see you soon as too everyone else.

To Klinger:
Wow a Sergent! Congratulations you lucky guy. I knew you’d give up women’s clothing too! The party sounded really great and fun and I wish you had it here and not there. Hawkeye and Margaret dancing like that? I couldn’t believe it, but I know you wouldn’t lie about that. I think it’s sweet – them 2 together, and it’s great that Major Houlihan has softened up too. Her playing practical jokes also made me laugh. But I bet she’d be great at them. Also her (and Hawkeye) staying in bed till 12 is surprising – but I don’t think they were sleeping either! The drinking competition sounded great. I knew Hawkeye’d win cause he’s good at that stuff. Thanks for looking after my animals too. You’re a great Pal – Max.

To BJ:
Gee, I really didn’t know you felt this way. I am sorry though, it should have been you Erin said it to. Thanks for forgiving me too. I’m glad the still’s good again. Thanks about the farm – I’m sure it’ll be okay eventually. Yeah Patti’s a real swell gal and I love her to bits. She likes animals as much as I do and it’s great. I do consider Hawkeye a brother as you said…but you are too. When Hawkeye wasn’t around – I’d always go to you and if I needed help – there you were, willing to help. Thanks about all the neat stuff you said. It’s amazing about all the stuff I’ve missed – Major Winchester being nice, Klinger getting promoted and not wearing dresses, You, Potter and Mulcahy sound the same. But Hawkeye and Major Houlihan? That really gave me a surprise! They hate each other – or at least are only friends. Especially Major Houlihan – playing jokes, being 8 days late and having charges! That joke sounded really funny – I hope your plan goes really good. I can only guess what they were doing when they found the snakes too (HA ha). The talent (or no talent) show sounds like it’ll be a winner! I’m sure you’ll kill em all – not really though, cause that would be a lot of work for you to do. Plus Margaret singing – she’s always been bad before. But if you say she’s good – I’ll take your word for it. I’m glad you spoke to Peg and your happy. She’s a really nice lady. Kinda reminds me of my older sister. I know Margaret never really meant what she said. I realised (took a while though) that she’s army and with us not being army, we seemed really strange and un-normal people. But I’m glad she’s good now. I know she’s not really used to getting close to people and stuff – but she’s good deep down. I’m really happy for her and Hawkeye. Glad to hear you and everyone’s good too.

To Hawkeye and Margaret:
I know you both wrote private letters and stuff – But I think you should both read this.
First of All – To both of you. Well, when I first read what you said Margaret – I nearly DID faint, I read it over and over and WOW – Congratulations. Both for getting married AND the baby. I really want you to come and see us – but I’ll guess it’ll be the other way around now! I heard Hawkeye that you said it’s a girl and you’re talking about names and schools and stuff. You’re gonna make a great dad, and you’re gonna make a great mom too Margaret. Me and Patti wanna wait a few months before we want kids – just enjoying ourselves and stuff (no – not just like that Hawkeye). I am really glad that you are both happy and everything, and I’m glad that you’re okay Major after – ya know the incident?

Margaret (can I call you that?) Your letter was really swell. I never knew you thought of me as a friend. I forgave you for everything before I left and don’t mention it again okay? See I can give orders too (Ha Ha!). Patti says hi and everything. I’m really happy that you’re happy about leaving the army and having a good husband – I hope you both have a happy life.

Hawkeye – I want you to know how much you meant to me for the past 2 ½ years. You’ve been my brother, my pal, my guide and I wanna thank you for all that you’ve done. Thanks about all the stuff you said; I really really miss you and the others too. I’m really lucky to have found Patti  - I love her with everything and I know you’ll really like her too – no need to get jealous Margaret…Hawk’s not her type (Ha Ha)!

I still can’t believe how you two act towards each other and in public and Hawkeye you’re lucky you didn’t mention your ‘other life’, I’m still getting used to you 2 married, let alone a baby, but you would have to have the ‘other life’ to get a baby now wouldn’t cha? Just kidding. I hope you can come home soon, cause I want you to be my best man Hawk. I have other friends and stuff, but you’re the swellest friend a guy could have (that oughta make him red!). BJ told me about the joke you 2 pulled – wish I coulda been there to see it. Finally, I can’t believe you two got charged! Well you can let the others read the rest of it.

The no talent show sounds great and I hope you guys are coping over there without me! I really want you all to come to the wedding, and if you’re still not back, maybe I’ll see you at Hawk and Margaret’s second one. Speaking of the wedding and marriage, to Hawk and BJ thanks for the advice, I’ve followed it and everything’s been smooth! Well there’s not much else I haven’t covered that all of you can read. The party you guys had (you know which one Klinger), sounded like fun. We should have another one here. Can I give a little advice to all of you?
Colonel Potter – be careful of pranks and practical jokes.
Major Winchester – be nice to everyone.
Father Mulcahy – you’re great as you are, keep up the good work
Klinger – J comes before K in the alphabet
BJ – Keep a lock on your door so that no more jokes can happen.
Margaret – take care of Hawk and yourself and NO jokes at my wedding
Hawkeye – Take care of Margaret and yourself and NO HITTING ON MY FIANCÉE when you meet her.
Take care everyone and I’ll see you all when you come home – good luck with everything.

Lots of love from
Walter ‘Radar’ and Patti soon-to-be O’Reilly.
