Free Public Educational Programs

Mason City Kennel Club
offers FREE educational
programs throughout the
North Iowa area.

These programs may be
tailored to all ages and can
include video presentations; discussions on pet responsibility,
care, and safety; and
demonstrations of dog
training.

Programs have been conducted
at schools (grades K-12),
day care centers, youth
organizations (Scouts, 4-H, etc.),
civic organizations, libraries;
as well as nursing homes
and other care facilities.

Teachers may use our
educational programs to tie
in with science or animal
studies or as a fun break from
the usual curriculum.

If you are interested in
having a program,
please contact Kathy Johnson,
Public Education
Coordinator,
at 641-423-7497.

Therapy Dog Visits

MCKC also provides pet-assisted therapy dog services to
the North Iowa area.  This is
a volunteer group of members
with the primary objective
of providing comfort and companionship by sharing their
dogs with the patients
in hospitals, nursing homes,
and other institutions as well
as wherever else a Therapy
Dog is needed.

This is done in a way that
increases emotional well
being, promotes healing,
and improves the quality of
life for the people being
visited and the staff that cares
for these people.

For further information
or to set up a visit,
please contact
Cindy Dirks at
641-423-1601.
