Introduction
Masset was born in Fargo North Dakota in 1975.  His father was an Engineer and his mother was an alcoholic.  He was told he was gonna grow up to be an Engineer just like his father.  For the most part, he was fine with that.  He was only 4 years old at the time, so he didn't know what he wanted to do yet.  He didn't even know what an Engineer was.  He thought it was the guy who drove those trains and blew that whistle.

Shortly after he turned 5, he turned 5 1/2.  He and his father moved to Detroit where his father continued his Engineering.  Masset didn't do much then, just sit at home and watch TV.  He was a regular wrestling fan, like most people are.  He watched Hulk Hogan the most.  He was his idol.  When Masset turned 9, he was a big wrestling fan.  he entered the phase where he faked "wrestling moves" on almost anything...friends, dogs, pillows, anything.  This became his goal of becoming a wrestler when he turned 13.  When his father found out, he encouraged that.  I mean, why be an Engineer when you can hurt people, right?  What a father.

The First Fed
Masset moved back to good old North Dakota and joined the wrestling association called the Bismarck State Wrestling.  There he practiced as hard as he could, and was determined to become a big-league wrestler.  After nearly ten years of training and improving at BSW, he was brought into the big-leagues, starting with the ECF.  There he finally made a name for himself.  He became the ECF Intercontinental Champion within the first month of his attendance  But he didn't stop there.  After a few months at the ECF, he signed up to the NCW.  There, he became the European and Hardcore champion within the first two months.  He later became the NCW Tag Team Champion with his partner and who would eventually become his manager/close friend, Bruce.  When the NCW closed its doors, he turned to the EAC.  There, he was entered in a tournament to become the World Champion.  In his debut match and Quarter-Finals of the tournament, he brutalized his opponent, and at the first PPV, in his 3rd match ever in the fed, Masset was crowned World Champion in a
Hell-in-a-Cell Ladder Match.  Masset became a fast rising star, and held onto that World Championship for nearly 5 months, before forcing to give it up due to injury.

Kings of Hardcore

Let's go back a few months.  About one month into the title reign, a rookie of the EAC, who had little knowledge and displayed that well, challenged Masset to a match.  This rookie wasn't a total loser, as he held what was called the Insane Championship.  It's the hardcore of hardcore belts.  Not only did he challenge Masset, but he challenged him to a Title vs Title match.  Masset laughed in his face, and gladly accepted.  After a decent match where Masset brutalized the kid, Masset held the Insane Championship.  Nice name, but he didn't want it.  An EAC friend of his proved worthy, and Masset simply handed the belt over to him.  To repay Masset, those two, along with the Hardcore Champion, formed a stable known as "Kings of Hardcore."  It had the hardcore champion, insane champion, and former-insane champion/current heavyweight champion Masset as the leader.  Things were great for three months.  The group was the "clique" of the area, being the hot topic of conversation for the time.

Then things turned bad.  Disagreements amongst the group slowly tore it apart from within.  The hardcore champion screwed over the insane champion in a match, causing him to lose the belt.  To set things on a "fair's fair" basis, Masset interferred in one of his matches, causing him to lose his hardcore belt.  The former-insane champion said he didn't need any help fighting his battles and attempted to screw Masset over and cost him the Heavyweight Belt, but Masset was quick on the trigger and fought back and won the match.  The final nail in the coffin came at the next PPV.  Masset was scheduled to fight in a World Title defense against the No1 contender.  However, Before the match, the two former teammates in the group brutalized Masset to a bloody pulp backstage and sent him to the hospital.  The match was cancelled, and the next night, it was announced Masset could not wrestle for quite some time, and the World belt was stripped and vacated.

The Fortunate Twist

This injury could've destroyed his wrestling career.  But whats the fun in that?  About a month later when Masset came back to the EAC, he was introduced as the EAC Commissioner.  Even sweeter, the former Insane champion was currently the no1 contender for the World belt.  By Masset's request, the match was ruled a deathmatch.  However, the no1 contender unfortunately won the belt.  Masset wasn't through with his revenge quite yet...for added taste, he booked him in rediculous matches, the highlight being a bra and panties world title match.  Funny enough, Masset was eventually fired for abuse of power.  Masset left satisfied with his revenge.

Moving on Up
From there, he joined the GCW, the biggest fed he's been in thus far.  He debuted by interferring in an International Title match, causing a draw.  This sparked a feud between Masset and the champion, Dennis Dynamite.  Masset tried and tried every week for a month to gain the International title, unsuccessful every time.  This wasn't because Dynamite was the better man.  This was due to an influential third party known as COP...

Champions of Power - rundown

COP stood for, as the title of this section suggests, Champions of Power.  COP formed long before Masset joined the GCW.  Almost three months before.  Here's a brief history of COP up to this point.  Cleverly named, this faction formed when every single champion in the GCW merged together.  This included Tag Team, European, United States, Canadian, International, Hardcore, and of course, World Champion.  This wasn't no insignificant faction.  The World Champion, being the leader, made note that once they lose their title, they're out.  If you didn't have the belt, you're not a member.  When someone did lose a belt, they were kicked out and the new champion was basically recruited.  Well, roughly four months in (one month after Masset joined), a "revolt" happened, when most of the members attacked and overthrew the world champion, Electric.  Electric was thus kicked out of COP.  So there they were, 6/7 of the feds' champions without a dominant leader.  If they go by the rank of the belt, International would be next in line, followed by US, Canadian, European, Hardcore, and Tag, respectively.

Champions of Power

On the next card after the revolt, Masset continued his feud with the International champion.  However, due to COP's temporary weak state, Masset was finally successful in defeating Dynamite.  Sticking to their old ways, Dynamite was removed from COP and they offered a spot in it for Masset.  Setting aside the memories of how Kings of Hardcore turned out, Masset decided to join.  But they still had no leader.  Many suggestions were to go with belt rank.  But a few were skeptical of letting someone who's only been here a month become leader.  They wanted proof of his superiority.  Wanting to do something big, Masset began going after the President, Mr. King.  Masset messed with his mind, showing COP what he can do outside the ring as well.  After a long four weeks of this, Mr. King got fed up and forced Masset into a match.  A match that made everyone go "damn..."  It was a
2-out-of-3 Falls Deathmatch.  Not only that, but against Electric, the World Champion who was still fuming over COP's actions and wanted revenge.  On the plus side, the World title was on the line!

Sacred Night '99
COP basically told Masset that this victory, if it were to happen, would be sufficient proof of his skill.  I mean, holding the top two belts after an extremely brutal match with the world champion, that does imply a bit of skill.  So Masset went into the match, fought with all he could, and took plenty of abuse.  Chair-shot after chair-shot, Aztecan suplexes, piledrivers, all against Masset.  He missed his Massetology off the top of a ladder in the ring through a table on the outside to give him the loss of one fall.  But throughout the match, Masset still managed to effectively hit his Assassination onto Electric through a table for the first fall.  And in the end, when Electric came in with a barbed wire wound chair, Masset hit the Affirmation with it, knocking Electric out cold and securing the win.  After that win, COP came out and congratulated Masset and declared him the new leader of COP.

The New Era -- The Era of Masset
Masset vacated the International title so he could focus on his World title.  Masset thought that he should do something phenomenal to leave his mark on the GCW.  Thus, he challenged the GCW President to a match.  However, Masset wanted to be President if he won.  I tell ya, the President doesn't get any rest!  The President laughed at the challenge...however, he did agree to let him be Vice President if Masset won.  On the next card, they fought.  Masset cleanly won the match and he of course became Vice President.  During the Era of Masset in the GCW, he was Vice President, World Champion, and leader of the most powerful and popular group in the GCW at the time.  But not all was candies and roses.  One person didn't like Masset.  This person, called The Game, started a crazy campaign stressing that Masset was becoming too powerful and to stop him.  The Game challenged Masset to a Retirement Match to do it himself.  Masset accepted, mostly to shut him up.  Since it was a retirement match, all titles were of course on the line.  With his COP buddies behind him, he stepped into the ring.  Halfway through the match, with the tide turning in Masset's favor, he asked for COP to bring a steel chair in the ring for the final Affirmation blow.  They came with the chair, but turned on Masset, nailing him over the head with the chair, giving him the loss.  He was officially fired from the GCW.

Sweet, Sweet Revenge
To seek revenge on his former teammates for driving him out of the GCW, he re-joined under the name "Mystery M."  Under disguise, he purposely repeatedly challenged COP members to non-title matches, then beating them.  They grew suspicious of his actions, and to settle it, Masset laid it all on the line and challenged the current leader of COP to a retirement match.  Who was the leader?  The Game.  He hadn't lost the World title since he defeated Masset.  The Game accepted, even making references of the retirement match only a month earlier.  He didn't know he was facing the same person.  During that match, he revealed himself as Masset, hitting him with both the Affirmation and Assassination, and received quite a cheer.  Though he won the match, he decided to leave the GCW under his own will, though he was fired also, and put up his wrestling boots for some time.
