A little bit about me:

I have been involved with dogs all of my life. My father had retired racing greyhounds and borzoi's. I can remember finding stray dogs and bringing them home with my older sister " really dad, he followed us!" from there we would find new homes for them. I have worked and volunteered for SPCA's and Dog Pounds throughout Northern CA.

At the age of 24, I found the '
perfect summer job" working in a large private training kennel that specialized in personal protection dogs. It was there that I saw what a strong pedigree and planning could produce and the difference between a well-bred dog and a dog bred because the neighbor also had the same breed of dog.  I imported my first Rottweiler from Germany and did limited breeding with her.I was able to explore and learn all I could in that training kennel and after five years , it was time to move on.
I  moved to the East Coast  in 1995, along with my son, who was 18 months old and two Rottweilers.  It was the longest 10 days of my life!
I have since put our two last Rotties down, one from old age (13) and the other from cancer, they are sorely missed.
I accquired my first Mastiff in 1997, a gift from my sister - who breeds Bloodhounds for Search and Rescue. To contact her about training or pups, please click

Her name is Orcutts Big Bad Bertha. She is our foundation bitch. After spending two years researching and learning all that I could about English Mastiffs, I decided to breed her on a limited basis......how limited I was about to find out.
