Some most likely questions that come to your mind would be like....hmm, mountainboarding, sound interesting...but did you guys actually make a sport out of woodplanks and some old tires and jumping off cliffs...??!! And where in the world is our beloved hometown Bentong..??? what does it have to offer, tak menarik laaa..... (blah la you city wimpers :)

Well firstly, if we in Malaysia were to have snow, yes, salju, then this small town would have became the Aspen what with all the mountains and hills. Alas, God does not send snow to us, but sure He lets us have all the good qualities of living in small town amid beautiful surroundings and lots of good locations for mountainboarding. We have beautiful and clean rivers and waterfalls to swim and riverboard, we have Bukit Raka, Bukit Tinggi, Genting, Janda Baik.  We have quiet and natural spots for camping and exploring. Sure heaven for Nature lovers with small budgets, backpackers, and Eco-sport enthusiasts.  

Our kampung boys' hospitality sure is charming.  And our wits are incomparable;>  this is due to pollution-free fresh mountain air we breath in and out everday...   We offer plenty of shreddable slopes - dirts, barelands, highways, skyway in Genting, Awana eco-sports park, beautiful grassfields in Bukit Tinggi....the list will grow on.

There are new terrains waiting to be explored, a possibility for a new athlete to be born and nurtured, and opportunities for Malaysian boardriders to pursue at local and international levels.

As far as we are concerned, mountainboarding has in fact become the world's fastest growing sport, but here in Malaysia we are practically blazing the path.  This is why we really believe in the DIY kind of doing things including designing and building our own boards and parks.
For Malaysian snowboarders who crave for the powder, try this awesome sport. Anybody who is somebody who love surfing, skateboard, wakeboard, kiteboard, BMX, windsurfing (boardsailing), streetluge, and all kind of alternative sports...

On the formal side, we will make a great stride toward providing the venues and recognition not just for mountainboard, but also for other shredders from other disciplines, some sort of Gravity Games for Malaysian youth and athletes.   Check out Offroad Boarding zine for hardcopy news.  In January 2003, mountainboarding Big Air and Slalom had been a great event in Nokia Totally Board in Amsterdam. There is even a brilliant idea to send our Malaysian team riders to make it to the Olympic Wintergames in Snowboarding! Ya mann...cool runninggs...!

Hopefully, mountainboarding will grow into respectable outdoor activity while retaining its attitude of Do-It-Yourself and the spirit of togetherness in the embrace of Mother Nature.
