About my student, K:

When K. first began tutoring with Stephanie, she already felt comfortable.  Stephanie had an inviting disposition which made it easy for K. to listen and take in the lesson for that session.  K. was a good student with high marks in many classes with the slightest exception in her math course.  She was not at a failing point but was yearning to grasp the perfect GPA and her math class was holding her back from achieving her goal.  Stephanie was able to provide that extra push and reassurance that K. needed in order to achieve her goal.  I was thoroughly pleased with the outcome of the tutoring sessions not just because of an amazing improvement in my daughter's math scores, but also in her confidence in the subject.  K. has struggled with grasping the concept behind lessons in math but Stephanie was able to open her mind to be able to comprehend what was being taught.  Improvements were not just shown in [school] exams, but Stephanie's aid also benefitted K.'s scores on the math portion of the SAT.  The improvement in that one section boosted her overall score, which helped K. obtain admission to her dream college, Chapman University, which she will attend in the fall [of 2008]. Stephanie was always on time to every session, which shows professionalism and organization.  She would always notify us if there was a slight change in plans.  Along with tutoring, Stephanie was also going to school herself to obtain her Master's Degree in Math, which showed her dedication to the subject.  She would always try to see from my daughter's point of view in order to get a clearer understanding of why or what was troubling my daughter.  K. had such a blast with Stephanie... which made tutoring with Stephanie fun.  We are both sad and happy [because even though] K. reached many of the goals they set together, my daughter graduated this year, [so] we will have to leave Stephanie.
