Passage: "Hello, is this the hardware store? Yes, I'm wondering ifyou sell catapults. No?? Well, i'm looking for something that can deliver a 50-pound palyload of snow on a small feminine target. Can you suggest something? Hello? I don't understand how some of these places stay in business." - Calvin and Hobbes |

Explanation: Hehe, i found this one to be quite amusing. In the first sentence, Calvin asks whether if a hardware store carries catapults, in which we all know they don't, so it builds up to humor. He then goes on to ask whether if they have something that "can deliver a 50-pound payload of snow on a small feminine target." By "feminine target" he means Susie, and this plays off the old boys-against-girls attitude of most young children. It then ends off with "I don't understand how some of these places stay in business," which expresses how the way a child thinks can be quite amusing. |
