Miller
This line in my family goes all the way back to Stephen Miller who was born about 1750.
He married Mary Bishop and they lived in North Carolina.
His son William Joseph Miller Sr. who was born in North Carolina, appears to be the first to settle in Kentucky.
His records say he died in Breathitt County Kentucky.
Joseph's grandson Lawson Miller, fought in the Civil War.
He was a Union Soldier (Grey Uniform). Kentucky was a "split state", so it wasn't unusual for brother to fight against brother. Lawson was in the Co. K 14 Ky. Cav and is said to be buried in full military uniform with his swords crossed over his chest.
Below is a picture of his headstone.
Lee County & Estill County Kentucky Lines
I had to put this 'lil' hard to see photo here, because my dad traveled all the way from California to sit on Kentucky soil again. He was right at home!
This is Torrent Falls in Wolfe County Kentucky. My family lived there and my dad and Aunt Nellie played there. It is now a resort. I think they call it PROGRESS!
