October 26 - October 30 - We  spent the last few days of October in Florida. Yep, back to Florida! Since we were still "in the area", we decided to catch another UCF home football game & the opportunity to watch Ryan and the band perform! We had a great time and had a chance to spend a little more time with Ryan before we "hit the road westward"!  Our young man seems to be adjusting well to college life...he hasn't gained any weight despite the fantastic meals he gets on campus, but he's gotten even taller!!!! Yikes!  (Cute story: We were walking with him one day and as usual, I was saying that he looked taller to me. He said he didn't think so, but then he looked over at dad & said, "I must be getting taller, dad, I can see the top of your head"!!)  Our extended time in Florida also gave us a chance to visit with our dear friend Eileen. She's such a perfect hostess! We had a beautiful day at Tarpon Springs, and had the best $5.00 boat ride! A very enjoyable day viewing the dolphins in the Gulf and eating Gyros etc. at a local restaurant. Must be Daryl was experiencing "household withdrawal" because he puttered etc. non-stop during our visit! If all else fails, I'm sure he could get a job as a "handyman" in Brookridge! October 13 - October 26 -  "How can we miss you if you don't go away"?   October 13 - October 21 -  "How can we miss you if you don't go away"?   We're back in Valdosta, Georgia!! We ran into some problems with the Motor Home over the weekend and decided to head back to Valdosta where there is a Winnebago dealer to have the repairs done. We were graciously greeted with a beer & a glass of wine when we arrived!! Cindy & Pat, you're too much!! We love 'ya!! It's been a very nice week, lots of "Dicey Dice", a new game our friends Sandy & Robert taught us. Cindy & I are both addicted to the game and even played in the car on the way to Neptune Beach for the band competition!! The trip certainly went by fast! We were there before we knew it! The competition was AWESOME!! We saw some very talented high school bands participate in the field competition. They certainly know how to put on a show! It was a beautiful weekend & a great time was had by all!! Tuesday, October 15th was a difficult day for MJ, as it was Ryan's first birthday away from home. Think it was harder for mom than it was for Ryan!    RYAN!!   October 12 - The band competition in Ashford was an enjoyable time. PJ's band,  Lowndes High School, Georgia Bridgemen are AWESOME!! The over 350 members of his high school band put on an awesome field show! We are looking forward to the competition at Neptune Beach, near Jacksonville. Yes, we are back in Georgia and as usual, having a great time with Cindy, Pat, PJ, Cassie & Chase! The Motor Home is in the shop for some minor repairs and this has given us the chance to have more good times with family! The dice game has become a popular evening past-time!    October - So far, the month of October has been spent in some beautiful State Parks in Florida. Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka, Florida was very relaxing and beautiful! We enjoyed walking the nature trails and viewing the Wet Lands & Dry Lands. It was amazing to walk the trails and see the difference! We also spent some time at the Florida Caverns State Park and enjoyed a visit to Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Daryl was in awe with the history! We also spent a very enjoyable week at Elite Resort in Salt Springs. We spent some time there last year thru our camping membership and stayed in the cabins. This time it was very nice staying in our Motor Home. Great place to practice some bike riding! We met some wonderful people, Dorothy & Keith from Texas! We enjoyed many talks and stories with them and tried our hand at "pegs & jokers" with them. They taught us some "tricks" of the game, as it is very big in Texas. Hopefully our paths will cross again!
