Dear Diary, I had the day off today and was well prepared to just sit in, and read or something. You can imagine my surprise, when Max phoned, and asked if I wanted to do something. I nearly jumped for joy, I composed myself and replied, "Sure, Max." and he said he'd pick me up in an hour or two. I was so undecided about what I'd wear I finally decided on a cute little skirt and white blouse. I was done with plenty of leeway before he got there, so I ended up putting back some pages of my book. He took me out to brunch, I insisted on paying my own way, but he told me he wouldn't hear of it. Then he took me out for Miniature Golf this time I insisted on paying. I'd always score lower than him, and I didn't want to hurt his feelings so I changed my score. Max ended up with 74 and me with an 89. Just between you and I my score should've been 51, but Max doesn't need to know. After some ice cream and a couple of rounds in the bumper cars we went back to his apartment. I nearly died when he asked me in. We watched some really great old movies. I had the most wonderful time I've had in a long time. I know Max did too because he said "We'll have to do it again soon" and called me after I got home to make sure I got home alright. |
