| The MCMI-III is primarily used in the clinical setting. It is designed as a diagnostic tool. The underlying premise is not "does a diagnosis exist?", but which diagnosis matches the profile. It is used primarily when clients are entering therapy and/or being admitted to a psychiatric hospital. In that setting the test can be a helpful tool. |
