WHO IS MAYA?
My Other Interests
Well, apart from those you find listed in my Site Map,
I love to read when I get the time, work in PSP, do fun things with my girls, swim, take a walk on the beach, watch good movies,
spend time alone at  a secluded mountain place that
has become my Spiritual Power Place, clean house (yes really! *smile*), & visit my friends and family.
Working on this web page has become a real interest - or is that obsession *smile*?  I enjoy listening to most types of music, both seeing and experiencing the simple, yet beautiful wonders
Mother Earth abounds in.  I love storms, and raging seas just as much as tranquil lagoons and clear skies.
I love moonlit nights and spending hours just looking up at a beautiful star-filled sky.
I like to travel, but haven't done much for some years now.
In 2003 though I did manage to take some extended leave,
and travelled into some of the more remote parts of Australia, in our 4 wheel drive, with no pressure of time frames.
It was great just to wander where the mood took us, staying where we wanted to for as long as we wanted ( well almost - it was all
over too quickly and my heart longs for the Outback again!)
That will be some pics to add to a photo page for you when I get around to making one!!  meanwhile check out my
Australia page.  There are some fantastic sites there for you to see.
I love meeting new people from wide and diverse backgrounds and learning about their cultures and Spirituality.
I like to write poetry, and have written some short stories for children. I'd like to do more someday.
I like studying, and building my skills base, and widening my interests.  I believe there's always more one can learn, no matter how much you know.
I like going to the ballet, seeing a good play or concert, visiting the art galleries, indeed I have an interest in all the fine arts, but I also like a good party, and enjoy a gig or two in the clubs and pubs - not that I get to either of these varied venues very much anymore.
Motherhood does take it's toll on both the "refined" and the "wild side" of life *smile*, as I'm sure most mothers would agree - but then the joys outweigh the sacrifices by far!!
I like to paint but I'm hopeless *smile*  I used to think having a studio would help - it didn't!  I had one and never used it!
My artist daughter, Portia, will have to carry on that dream, if she so chooses.  She's very talented and had one of her paintings in an exhibition in 2004.  She gave me two paintings for Xmas that year which I will treasure always.
She has an amazing eye for colour and form, and her artwork is a delight to behold.  Maybe I'll scan some in so you can enjoy it too.
