| After two of my children experienced severe reactions to routine immunisations, I decided to look into information regarding vaccines and the effects they may have on children. Personally, I was horrified at what I discovered. Again, whilst I know this choice is not for everyone, I have chosen not to futher immunise the last affected child, and to completely avoid immunising my last child. My last child has been healthier and more robust than the others and is more able to quickly fight off any slight illnesses she may encounter. The information I provide here is what one would term an "anti-vaccination" site, and due to my own experiences, I guess it is. BUT I would urge parents to look closely at BOTH sides of the debate to enable you to make an INFORMED choice. Your Dr will provide you with pro-immunisation information. |

| I guess out of all my pages that I expect the biggest "reaction" in the negative sense will be this one. The reason I say that is generally on a day to day basis this debate rages hot in the community and reactions I have received over the years have been just as heated. It is almost as though people look at you as if you are a bad and neglectful parent if you choose not to immunise your child. Even the Government in Australia, does not automatically give the same financial assistance to new parents if they choose not to immunise. This currently can be received with a letter from your Doctor stating they have informed you of the risks of not immunising, yet you still have a conscientious objection toward it, although things continue to get tougher all the time. The under-reporting of vaccine damaged children is a huge problem. For me it has been heartwrenching to meet parents of vaccine damaged children and to see the little ones that could so easily have had a "normal" life if it weren't for the damage they sustained at immunisation. On a personal level, when you hear that high-pitched scream of your precious little one going on for weeks, in response to the swelling of her brain, when you check on her in her cot only to discover she is "floppy" and unresponsive, when she starts to have a seizure, her eyes roll up and she begins to vomit ... THEN and only then, can you perhaps even hope to understand that parent's decision not to further immunise her child. Believe me, it was not a decision made lightly, and if my son, who had also had a vaccine related reaction, had been as severe one as my little girls', I would not have had her immunised at all. The guilt in knowing it all could have been avoided had I not immunised her was quite immense. Thankfully we got her to a Homeopath who gave her a remedy for the seizures and she made a full recovery. This page is just to assist you to make an informed choice and to tell a bit about my story. There are many other parents who live daily with the results of a vaccine damaged child - some who are doing amazing work in informing other parents about the potential damage that can be caused by vaccines. My thoughts are with them and their families. |
