What's New - Sept 2003
Sept 9, 2003:  Ok, so...I've been really remiss in retelling my work tales.  Today I decided to do something nice for my group and organize a little potluck for this Friday...read on...

Sept 8, 2003:
Nothing much happened this weekend.  I slept almost all day on Saturday.  I had dinner with my folks, Bert, & Raye that evening at Kazamidori, a kushiyaki type of restaurant.  I was still too tired to do anything else that evening.  On Sunday, I went to church and made it just in time for Erin's induction into the Board of Deacons!  Wow...Erin - a deacon.  Next time you see her, be sure to call her "deke" - she likes that.

After church I went to sao's to spend some time with her - the only problem was that they weren't there.  I guess I should have planned a bit more concisely.  I went on to Costco to pick up some stuff.  It turns out that I just missed her at Costco by a few minutes.

I stopped by Greg&Susie's house to pick up some DVDs and see Alan, their son.  Man, Alan is big.  I mean, he's big.  2 ½ months and big.  Just plain big.  Sao calls him Buddha Baby.  I may start calling him "Hoss".

Later that evening I went out to Pat & Oscar's in Los Feliz(?) for Monica's 30th b-day.  The breadsticks remind me of how Olive Garden's USED to be.  I had two.  They were pretty big.  I think that may have been the cheapest birthday dinner I've ever been to.

Anyhow, we decided that for Erin's Yakudoshi, we'll be going to Vegas.  If you're interested, let me know - we'll be going November 14 - 16th!

Sept 2 2003:
HELLO, BIG APPLE!!  I spent the weekend in New York City!  I'm not quite
sure what the highlight of the trip was.  Could it have been:

1.) Flying out to NYC to catch the Yankees v Redsox game only to find out that they were playing in Boston?

2.) The rain?

3.) Erin, Patty & I nearly committing the murder of Henry who basically made us wait for his slow ass for nearly 3 hours while we starved to death instead of just telling us we can go on without him?

4.) Me spraining my ankle because I wasn't watching where I was going, thereby falling into the largest freaking pothole New York had to offer?

Ok, let me just explain those points...

1.) It wasn't my fault.  Henry insisted that it was in New York DESPITE  the fact that I looked it up on the internet (after my VP told me that it was Boston's homegame).  By the way, just to add to my whole professional respect that I've got here at Teleflora, Jack (my VP) proceeded to tell our entire Regional Vice President sales staff, the CEO, and the COO what had happened.  He's at the top of my hit list now.

2.) Self explanatory.  It rained...and rained...and rained.

3.) Henry tells us that we will meet up at 8:30pm.  He tells us he's going to Central Park to go running (at night).  He doesn't show up at the designated meeting time.  By 10:00pm we're pretty frantic  because he's made us believe he's reliable (he's not).  He finally calls us to say that he was in the subway, therefore didn't get our call (yeah, right).  We tell him to meet us at the corner bar.  By 11:30pm, I'm pretty mad that he hasn't shown up yet and at the fact that I still had not eaten.  Those of you who know me, know that I get cranky when I don't eat.  I was really, really cranky. We finally find him and we start walking to dinner.

4.) On our way, the group was ahead of me.  I start crossing the street and didn't notice the freaking CRATER in the road and twist my ankle.  All I can manage to squeak out is, "My ankle".  Unfortunately, no one heard me.  I thought I could manage to get to the sidewalk, but I couldn't shake it off so I start to crawl.  Just as luck would have it, I see oncoming traffic headed right towards me.  I crawl as fast as I could.  I clear traffic just in time.  So here I am...sitting on a curb on a major street in Times Square, bawling my eyes out because my ankle hurts so bad, my friends have taken off without me because they still hadn't noticed that I wasn't with them, grasping my ankle in the hopes of squeezing out the pain, strangers coming up to me asking me if I'm ok, not being able to respond because I couldn't even breathe...and finally a couple of minutes later, erin comes running back to me to see what happened.

That final night pretty much sucked, having to keep my leg propped up on pillows w/ice packs all night.  We watched the Sopranos (new phrase for my boss, Michael is, "da bing" as in "ba da bing") and Charlie's Angels 2.

The trip was pretty fun, overall, with the exception of the aforementioned situations.  Won't be traveling with Henry ever again, but at least I know that I can still travel with Patty & Erin (Italy March 2004).

That's it for my weekend....
