| Flip Supporter You have a right to your opinion. You cannot compare the Big Fat Greek Wedding to the Flipside or Debut. Wasn't [Greek Wedding] an IFC film? The Flipside and Debut was done on their own. ... "Cheap laughs by using the overused fob" obviously you don't like stereotypical humor, but didn't the Greek Wedding have steretypical humor? If you're Greek... the humor and steretypes would have been more meaningful. The Flipside and Debut were able to achieve that type of cultural humor in the Filipino culture without the romance. If you couldn't get the point of the movie how can you get the point to the Greek Wedding... |
| Rod Hey, it's all good, stretch. So you didn't like the movie. Sometimes I don't like it much, either. But this was both Gene's and mine's first time out. Hopefully we'll learn and grow as filmmakers. There were some cheap shots in you "Debut" and "Flipside" scripts, but they were still pretty funny. Who says I can't laugh at myself? PS. They're pretty funny, but damn, shame on you for the low blows/personal attacks. Instead of wasting your time dogging on Gene & Rod, it'd be smarter to pick their brains & learn from their experiences. You're lucky that Rod is such a nice guy. I can't believe that he's actually giving you ANY respect & taking the time to respond to you after what you pulled. But that's Rod's way... for the love of our people. I think it's great what Filipino filmmakers have accomplished recentlly. I've been there to support whenever possible. I won't call you a traitor, but you're definitely not getting my support. |
