At the top of the Aloha Tower, one can see Pearl Harbor (to my right), downtown Honolulu (behind us) and Diamond Head (left of Cindy). I think we went shopping later that day. Waikiki nights are warm, but windy. As with most touristy cities, there were all kinds of vendors and side shows. Walking on the beach at night with the city lights was pretty nice too. |

The next day we checked out the Hanauma Bay and then checked out the swap meet at Aloha Stadium. There was a whole lotta stuff for cheap. It was also hotter than a mutha too. I think we came way with a few T-shirts and Cindy bought a few gifts for the family. Later in the day we went to the Manoa Falls just east of downtown Honolulu. It was pretty muddy and it was a 1 1/2 mile hike to get there. It was small but kinda refreshing as well. Wear bug spray. |

After that we hustled to John's pad (a classmate of mine at UOP) for a little get together. Got a chance to have dinner for a while and hang with classmates outside the confines of SF. Maybe one of them has a picture of us all. I think we went to a bar in Ala Moana afterwards. It was pretty packed and we then jetted to Zippy's nearby. |
The next day we went snorkling out at Shark's Cove around North Beach. The action was much better out there. We managed to see a turtle, a puffer fish and an eel. Later we headed to Wimea beach and the view is just like those Corona commercials...a nice place to spend the day. There were also kids nearby diving off a rock. The water was in the 80's or so..... |
