Bangkok by Day
Murray Head, Chess Sountrack
Bangkok and
Thailand have alot more to offer than the dance clubs and the nightlife.
All over the city and the country side are temples (or Wats) that are hundereds
of years old and exhibiting incredible architecture and design.
These photos were taken at Wat Phra Kaew. This is the largest of the Wats in Bangkok and is the home of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace. The pictures doesn't do this place justice.
This picture was
also taken at Wat Phra Kaew. Me, my cousin Maude, and a Yuk.
Yuks are a character in Thai mythology and literature. Basically
they're giants like those found in Western legends. However, Yuks
have the ability to shrink down to the size of a normal person and change
their appearance to a less monstrous form.
This was
taken at Wat Po. Its smaller than Wat Phra Kaew but is close to the
river. This was taken the day of the Royal Barge Procession which
involves the King riding in boats that have been hand carved and decorated.
And yes, that is a finger at the top of the picture. Hey! I
didn't take it!
