The officers were faced with lots of problems to begin with. There's no Constitution, no SEC registration, no official receipt, only measly finances of P11,000+ endorsed, no recognition from Marian College Administration, no approved alumni fees to be collected from graduating students. Several meetings were done to make resolutions to finally resolve the above concerns.
On the occasion of the Second Annual Alumni Homecoming held on December 29-30, 2005, with the theme " Marian College Alumni: Bridging Tomorrow,...Today", we, the alumni officers were proud to announce several of our accomplishments, as follows:
1. Collection of Alumni Fees from all graduating students (Elementary, High School and College). Resolution was passed to and approved by MC Administration through Bishop Antonio Ledesma to collect an Alumni Fee of P50 from all graduating students except elementary graduates. The collection for the past two school years (SY 2005-2006 and 2006-2007) had already been endorsed to our treasurer.
2. Collection of Alumni Fees of P50 from ALL alumni (from batch 1961 to batch 2005) to become a bona fide member of Marian College Alumni. Added to this is an annual fee of P25/year starting year 2005. Collection of such had already started since the first annual alumni homecoming in 2004. Only bona fide members are allowed to run and vote in the election of officers of the alumni.
3. Maintenance of bank account under Land bank of the Philippines, Ipil Branch CA#: 001252-1081-88. The approved three signatories who could withdraw money from this account were the Alumni President, Alumni Treasurer, and Alumni Coordinator from Marian College Administration or its designate. This bank account had been used by concerned alumni residing/working in other places in facilitating transfer of their payment or donation to the alumni's cause or activities (like souvenir program, membership fees and others)
4. SEC Registration: Marian College Alumni was resgistered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as IPIL MARIAN COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, INC. on December 6, 2005 with Registration No.: CN200530525. |
