| Julie, is our newest champion! All of her points have come from the bred by class! She just took a 4pt major owner handled out of bred by and took Best of Winners and Best Opposite Sex over 4 breed winning bitch specials! She started out her show careeer last year at the GDCA Nationals, in the futurity competition, taking 4th place in the 3-5 month division out of 43 puppy bitches! This year she placed again at the nationals in the most competitve class again , 12-18 month bitch. She placed 4th out of 33 ! She will be shown as a champion for a short spurt and then bred to a tall handsome stripped man....details to follow. |
| How Julie, and her litter came to be.... Julie and her brothers and sisters are from a very special litter, They are the product of fresh chilled semen of their daddy Bruiser, sent from Texas to be surgically implanted into their mom Brooke. The first time we tried it, the airlines lost the semen, so just getting Brooke bred was a year long ordeal. I was determined to do this breeding, and wouldn't settle for anything but...little did I know how glad I would be sticking to my instincts and standing firm on my decisions... My friend Kathy Strouse offered to whelp the litter, so we made plans along with Bruiser's mom Robin Massingill, and Brooke's breeder Joyce Davis and myself (Melissa Dreyer) to cobreed the litter. We are so thankful we did the breeding we had waited so long to get accomplished, and that we all were listed as breeders. You see, we would not get another chance, to breed Brooke. Brooke whelped the litter fairly easily, and all seemed well. But soon showed signs of toxcitiy and had a raging infection. She collapsed and nearly died in the vets office, an emergency spay was performed. Brooke pulled through but after surgery, had no milk. So her 'brood' of 10 was bottle fed. Kathy, her husband Mike, and her sons John and Jason, and daughter Jessica, battled round the clock feedings. Poor Kathy, what was suppossed to be a fun, exciting experience ended up exhausting ! But in the end, we had one of the best litters we have ever put together here at Sunrise. Julie's brother , Taz aka: Sunrise's House Rules is major pointed, her other brother "Bogey" is almost singled pointed out, and her sister, "maddy" is begining her show career too. So we are extremely proud of this bunch...4 generations of danes residing here at Sunrise, all in one pedigree and one breeding.
