Persuasive Speech Criteria and Schedule:
Introduction--preview, attention-getter, 10 points
Conclusion--closure to speech--10 points
Content--argument--with 5-7 quotes; one quote may be from interview; quote cards should not exceed 40-50 words max--organization--30 points
Survey Results--survey must be conducted in class--10 points
Visual Aids--minimum of two--max of four ppt slides--10 points
Physical Delivery--eyes, posture, gestures--10 points
Vocal Delivery--avoid non-fluencies, good strong clear voice<10 points> Duration--10 points--speech is to be 8-10 minutes; student will lose two points for every 10 seconds under 8 minutes; no speech will receive better than a 60 (D-) for a speech under 6 minutes.
