which is an quarter mile long crawl space covered by dense foliage that twists and turns until reaching the beginning of the maze. Coran took the liberty of shrinking the entrance several years ago to prevent someone from happening upon the labyrinth and possibly discovering their hiding place. Favorite Color: Gold. Favorite Food: Pecan Pie. Favorite Subject: Gem Stones Likes: Music, metal work, making jewelry, and Tai-Chi. Dislikes: All of these people trying to get him to join them, the death threats when he refuses them, springs on his auto harp snapping, people who don't know when to give up. Hobbies: Making jewelry, sculpture, and playing a Autoharp. Dreams: To live in interesting times and meet a girl or two along the way. Lovelife: None currently since he lives alone in the mines and has had only a little experience with women. He’s attracted to his female assistant, but has made no move to become romantically involved with her, afraid she might laugh at him for having a crush on her. Family: Brethan Flewelling , 46, Coran's father a brusque stalwart man and powerful Geomancer. Loertta FaNee (Fah-nay) Flewelling, 43, Coran's mother, a retired paladin of Sharis. Gene Flewelling, 14, Coran's gentler younger sister. Hazel Flewelling, 14, Gene's twin who share her fathers harsh brusque manner. Friends: Only several of his childhood friends back home, living alone and guarding the Griffin has not promoted getting out and meeting people. Strengths: Coran is nearly unmatched in his skill with the cross-bow, as both a ranged and melee weapon. He can hit a copper crown, about the size of a thimble, at two hundred feet. (Need more.) He can also talk to Defalk and access the Griffin's memories. Weaknesses: Coran knows about the other Mystical Beasts, but believes they were either lost or destroyed long ago, he will do anything to keep the Griffin Mecha safe from those who would use it for their own ends or destroy it. In this he is solely ruthless in his duty and cares not about creed, color, race, or religion. If he perceives it is apart of his duty it will be done, consequences be damned. Appearance: Coran is a young man with chiseled, almost hawkish, features. His long straw blond hair falls down his back to his shoulder blades. His smoky azure eyes seem to look deeper then the skin into the soul. A aura of knowing seems to surround him and ensnare those close to him. There is something undeniably attractive about him, though no one can say quite what it is. Coran prefers to wear robes of white and golden yellow. The garments are made of silk and quite comfortable so as not to interfere with spell casting, swimming, or anything else he might be doing. Atop his bow he wears a circlet of gold with a large turquoise gem in the center of the piece on his forehead. Personality: Coran is a light hearted, strong, and gentle man. His father would sometimes tease him about being the proverbial knight in shining armor, only without the white charger, armor, and rigid code of honor and chivalry. He knows what as right and wrong and will make an effort to understand both sides of a argument. Coran feels alone in the world much of the time. Defalk is his only true comfort and companion. While he laughs and enjoys peoples company, he has never been close to anyone save his family members. He has made a number of passes at the female member of his team. But has never tried to do something more. History: Long ago, in times primal and dark, before Shinwa was a glimmer in the Dragon's eyes, the dragons and their bestial counterparts fought in a nearly forgotten war. A war that is only whispered legend among humans and the other races. In this long forgotten war it is said that a creature of dreams and nightmares came and used the dragons and mythical beasts as it's play things. That it was only banished when the four most powerful beasts joined together into one all powerful creature that pushed back the night and sealed it away. It was shortly after this that Shinwa was made and the Griffin, Defalk, hid the gateway that could release this beast once more. During the first Dragon War Defalk and the other griffins protected a number of Draconians and humans from the mighty dragon's wrath and outrage of their creations the humans. He fought to preserve the way things had been. But, shortly after the Sealing of the Dragons the humans he had once protected turned on him when he protected a small group of Draconian's from their wrath and fear. He survived the war with the humans respect and trust. Shortly after the war the Phoenix’s first Guardian began a genocidal war against the Draconian. With word of this Defalk chose set out to stop the currently more powerful Phoenix. After several months of bloody skirmishes and the destruction of miles of fertile land Defalk accepted that there would be no way to release Sora from the control of her first pilot. |
