Ghillie suits can be purchased or constructed & must "blend in" to the surrounding terrain & environment the designated marksman, scout sniper is conducting actions in.
Ghillie suits are normally carried in a pack during the inflitration phase movement to the area of operation to help "blend in" with other troops & civilians in the area.
When reaching the Objective Rally Point ORP the scout observer provides security for the designated marksman, scout sniper & vise versa to put on the ghillie suit to use during the "stalk" movement to the Final Firing Position FFP phase to conduct observation, surveillance, target detection selection & engage targets.
All mission essential gear such as optics, rifles should have a ghillie drag bag & be ghillied for the "stalk" & use in the FFP.
The ghillie suit does provide camouflage to the designated marksman, scout sniper to help them blend into the surrounding terrain making it harder for searchers using unaided or aidied visual day & night optics to locate them.
A ghillie suit does not protect designated marksman scout sniper from location by use of dogs, electronic surveillance means nor does a ghillie suit protect the wearer from small arms fire once located.
The designated marksman, scout sniper must use the terrain & all available concealment, cover to advantage to protect them from observation, detection & small arms fire.
During the exfiltration E & E phase the ghillie suit can aid in concealment of the team along the route & to set up hasty ambushes to slow purusers down or to continue unseen.
The purpose of the unorganized militia is to protect life, liberty, community, local, state, & national infrastructure, & to assist the lawful authorities of the state & nation in time of crisis.
