This is the 2004/05 collection from my Fashion textiles GCSE. My brief was to create a Cinderella outfit for a production at a local theatre I made an outfit that combined the two viewpoints of cinderella...it was half beautiful with decorations and half ragged and worn. It was designed for the scene where cinderella is running from the ball and her dress is turning from a ball gown into rags. For the decoraed side I used velvety material, beads and sequins, as well as ribbons, gold thread and a rose. Some items can be removed for washing :) |
For the cinders ella side I used some cord ribbon stuff to create swirls and i also used the selvage cut from the material to create patterns. I also tried burning, bleaching and dying samples of material. I made a sample lace top, whioh I then developed into the Cinderella top (above photographs) and I made a cord jacket and a hand dyed top...somehow blagged it that they fitted into my GCSE project. when in actual fact I just made them to wear, but it pushed my grade up!!! I was extremely lucky to be allowed to do the whole project at home with no lessons, so my teacher couldnt exactly argue with me when I brought in the finished project on handing in date...specially as I got an A* without her help!! (lets hope she doesnt read this) Mind you, I couldnt have been entered for the exam without her... but basically this project then lead me to my next... a christian fashion label...EZMO Currently being developed whist studying at Gloscat college, Gloucester. |
