Accio - The summoning charm
Aconite - A plant used in potions that's also known as a 'monkshood' or a 'wolfsbane'
Aging Potion - A potion used in order to look older
Alchemy - Medieval science based on turning any metal into pure gold
Alohorma - A spell to unlock doors and windows
Animagi -
People who can change into an animal
Aparecium - A spell to make ink invisible
Apparate - The magical ability to disappear and reappear at your destination
Aragog - A huge spider that can be found in the forbidden forest
Auror - A witch or wizard that captures any type of bad guy/creature and takes them to Azkaban
Avada Kedavra - Worst of the Unforgivable Curses; a killing curse that causes a falsh of bright green light and kills without a mark
Avery - A named Dementor
Avis - A spell that causes birds to fly out of the tip of a wand
Azkaban - The wizard prison
Ballycastle Bats - A professional Quidditch team
Bane - Centaur from the forbidden forest
Basilisk - Known as the King of Serpents, a snake that can reach a gigantic size, and live many hundreds of years, is born from a chicken's egg and is hatched beneath a toad.  It has a murderous stare, and all who are fixed with the beam of its eye shall die instantly.  Spiders flee it

Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans - Wizard candy that comes in every flavor
Bezoar - Stone taken from the stomach of a goat that can be used to save one from poisons
Binky - Lavendar Brown's pet rabbit
Blast Ended Skrewts - Magical creature that looks like a shelless lobsters and who shoot sparks out of themselves
Bludgers - Twin black balls that try to unseat players in the game of Quidditch
Boggart - A magical thing that hides in dark corners and will turn into whatever you fear the most
Bowtruckles - Wood-like pixies that are tree-guardians and live in wand trees and eat wood lice
Broomstick - A flying broomstick, is used in the game of Quidditch.  Brands include the Cleansweep Five, Nimbus Two Thousand, Nimbus Two Thousand and One, Shooting Stars, Firebolt, etc.
Bubblehead Charm - Charm used to breathe under water
Buckbeak - A hippogriff
Butterbeer - A frothy, buttery hot drink
Cauldron - A pot which ingredients are put into to make potions
Centaur - A half man half horse creature
Chinese Fireball - A type of dragon that is red
Common Welsh Green - A type of dragon
Cornish Pixies - Electric-blue beings that are about 8 inches high, with pointed faces and shrill voices
Cruciatus Curse - an illegal curse
Crucio - An illegal curse that makes creatures legs bend into their body
Degnome - A method used to get rid of gnomes in a garden.  To degnome a garden you cate the gnome, grab it by its ankles, and swing it around your head, and then throw it.  Once the others realize what's happening they rush up to have a look so its easy to get rid of the others.
Death Eaters - Supporters of Lord Voldemort, the dark wizard
Dementor - A ghostlike person that sucks all the happiness out of a person
Densaugeo - Makes teeth grow abnormally large
Devil's Snare - A plant with long entangling creeper and can be found in dark and damp areas
Diagon Alley - A shopping alley that only wizards can access
Diffindo - Makes things split
Dissendium - Opens secret passages inside statues
Dobby - A house elf of the Malfoy's
Draught of Living Death - A very powerful sleeping potion made from asphode and wormwood
Durmstrang - A wizarding school that strongly supports the Dark Arts
Engorgio - makes things bigger
Ennervate - Brings people back to conciousness
Expecto patronum - summons patronus to protect you from dementors
Exspelliarmus - A spell to disarm someone
Extendable Ears - Ears created by the Weasley twins, that when held up to your own ears, can help you hear conversations in far off places or other rooms
Fang - Hagrid's pet dog that's a boarhound
Fawkes - Dumbledore's pet phoenix
Ferula - Creates a sling
Finite Incantatem - A charm used to stop the effects of other charms
Flobberworm - A very boring creature with no teeth
Floo Powder - Glittering powder that is used to travel
Fluffy - A huge dog with three heads who is befriended by Hagrid
Foe Glass - A mirror that shows dark shadows of figures, and you know you are in trouble when you can see the white of their eyes
Freezing Charm - An immobilizing spell
Furnunculus - Makes boils appear on the skin
Galleon - A gold wizard coin, 17 Sickles equal one Galleon
Giants - Magical creatures that are huge in size, and are known to be very rude and mean
Gillyweed - A plant used for breathing underwater
Gnomes - Small and leathery looking men, with large knobbly bald heads that look like potatoes.  They live in holes in peoples' gardens and aren't too bright.
Goblins - Very small creatures that have clever, dark faces, pointed beards, and very long fingers and feet.
Grawp - Hagrid's half brother who is a pure giant
Grindylow - A silky green water creature with sharp horns
Gringotts - The bank of the wizarding world.  It's run by goblins and in order to get to a vault you must ride in a cart.  The safest place to hide something, the only place safer is Hogwarts.

Gurg - The name used by gaints that means the chief giant of a group
Hedwig - Harry's snowy pet owl
Heliopaths - Tall flaming creatures that gallop across the ground, burning everything in front of them
Hogsmeade - An all wizard village
Hogwarts - The wizarding school that Harry Potter attends
Homorphus Charm - turns a werewolf back into a man
House Elves - Elves that cook, clean, and do other small chores and receive no pay
Howler - A letter that is enchanted so when you open it you hear the sender's voice yelling your message at the top of their lungs.

Hungarian Horntail - a type of dragon, black with spikes on its tail
Impedimenta - Temporarily slows down a target
Imperio - A curse that allows a person to have total control of another creature or being
Imperius Curse - A curse used to control people
Impervious - Repels water
Incendio - A spell that causes fire to appear

Kappas - Monkey-like water creatures
Karkus - The chief giant that Hagrid meets
Knuts - Bronze wizard coins
Kwikspell - A course for squibs and others with poor magical talent that helps you improve your magical talents
Legilimency - The ability to extract feelings and memories from another person's mind
Leprechauns - tiny men that hide pots of gold
Leprechaun Gold - Gold that disappears in an hour and is owned by leprechauns
Locomotor Mortis - Leg locker curse
Love Potion - A potion used to make people fall in love
Lumos - A spell that will make a light come at the end of your wand
Magorian - A centaur that lives in the forbidden forest
Metamorphmagus - A person that can change their appearance at will
Mimbulus mimbletonia - A cactus with boils on it, in defense it will spray stinksap
Mirror of Erised - A mirror that lets a person see their deepest desire
Monkshood and Wolfsan - The same plant is called aconite
Muggle - A non-magic person
Mudblood - A really foul name for someone who is Muggle-born
Nagini - Lord Voldemort's pet snake
N.E.W.T.s - Nastily Exhausting Wizard Tests, Percy took them
Niffler - A creature that sniffs out treasure
Norbert - A Norwegian Ridgeback dragon that is befriended by Hagrid
Nosebleed Nougat - Candy that will make your nose bleed, see Skiving Snack Boxes
Nox - A spell that will turn off the light on the tip of your wand from Lumos
Obliviate - A memory-erasing charm
Occlumency - The study against external penetration (i.e. mind reading)
Omnioculars - Like binoculars but can play back actions
Orchideous - Makes flowers pop out at the end of wand
Order of Phoenix, The - A secret society of wizards and witches founded by Dumbledore, to help prevent the rise of Voldemort's power
O.W.L.s - Ordinary Wizarding Levels, Percy and Bill got 12 of them
Owls - Birds that carry messages for wizards/witches
Parselmouth - Someone who can speak the language of the snakes
Parseltongue - Language of the snakes
Pensieve - A basin that has misty water in it and it can magically help you deal with your thoughts if you have a lot on your mind
Petrificus Totalus - Body bind
Phoenix - A bird that bursts into flame and rises from its ashes during rebirth.  During rebirth it is ugly, but afterwards it is colorful and is the color of flames.  It can carry heavy loads, its tears heals wounds, and it is a very faithful pet
Point Me - Points wand north
Poltergeist - Like a ghost, but can control solid objects
Polyjuice Potion - A potion that will allow you to turn into someone else for an hour
Portkeys - Teleports
Prior Incantato - Makes another wand repeat shadows or most recently cas spells
Quaffle - A large brick-red ball that you hit into the net in Quidditch
Quidditch - A wizarding game played on broomsticks
Quidditch World Cup - A huge Quidditch game involving two famous teams
Quietus - Quiets your voice

Reducio - Makes things smaller
Reducto - Reductor spell
Remembrall - An enchanted ball that can tell you if you've forgotten something
Reparo - Repairs broken objects
Rictusempra - Tickling charm
Ridikulus - Turns boggart into something humourus
Secrecy Sensor - An object that vibrates when it detects a lie or some sort of concealment
Serpensortia - A snake summoning charm
Sickle - A silver wizard coin, 29 Knuts equal one Sickle
Skiving Snack Boxes - Candies that make you ill for helpful reasons (i.e. to get out of class)

Sneakoscope - A device that lights up and spins around when someone untrustworthy is around
Snitch - A golden walnut-sized ball with silver wings that the Seeker has to catch in Quidditch.  When caught, the team who has caught the Snitch is awarded 150 points
Sonorus - Makes voice loud
Sorcerer's Stone - A legendary stone that will transform any metal into pure gold.  It also produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal.  It was created by Nicholas Flamel with the help of Albus Dumbledore.
Sorting Hat - At the beginning of each year a ceremony is held for first years where they are sorted into one of the four Houses at Hogwarts, click here

Squib - A person born into a wizarding family but doesn't have any magical powers
Stupefy - A stunning spell
Swedish Short-Snout - A type of dragon that is a blue-grey color
Tarantallegra - A dancing charm
Thestrals - Horse-like creatures with fangs and wings, the only people who can see them are people who have seen death
Transfiguration - Turning one thing into another
Unforgivable Curses - The illegal curses Avada Kedavra, Imperius, and Cruciatus
Unicorn - A horse with a horn that contains magical powers
Veela - Beautiful creatures that are female and have a special charm that attracts males
Veritaserum - A truth potion
Waddiwasi - Unclogs things
Wand - A stick of wood with a powerful magical core, used for casting spells
Whomping Willow - A large tree that beats up anything that disturbs it
Wingardium Levoisa - A levitating spell
Winky - A female house elf whose master is Barty Crouch
Weird Sisters, The - A witch band
Werewolf - A half man half wolf mixture
