Pendulum Rod & Stand You will need a Y shaped stick, suede cord, heavy string, chain with pendulum (see pendulum project), flat piece of wood for the base of the stand, smaller Y shaped stick for the stand, hot glue, stones of your choice to decorate handle with. Start by creating a hole in the flat piece of wood that the Y shaped stick can fit into. Place it in the whole and then take the smaller Y shaped stick and position it on the base so it will hold up the large Y shaped stick. Once you have it in position, use hot glue to attach it. You may want to decorate the base with suede cord and stones, using hot glue to attach them. Once the base is complete and you're sure it will hold the rod steady, begin working on the rod itself. Wrap the suede cord in a spiral pattern around the handle of the rod. Add more stones if you like. Wrap the heavy string around the Y part of the stick and glue it in place. Attach the pendulum and chain to the suede cord. Balance it in the middle of the Y so it will hang down evenly. When complete, the rod should rest on the stand and the pendulum should be balanced and still. You can also take the rod off the stand and use it for dowsing for healings or searching for things. |
Herbal Altar Pentacle You will need: 4-5 blocks bakeable clay in color of your choice, 3-4 tbsp. dried herbs of choice (sage, wormwood, patchouli, basil, and mugwort are good), round piece of wood or cork in your choice of size, cookie sheet, hot glue sticks or hot glue gun. Using your fingers, mix the herbs into the clay. Divide the clay into five equal portions, then form them into long rolls by rubbing them between your palms. Position them on the wood or cork to form a five pointed star; join the smooth ends together, trimming if necessary. Remove the star from the round piece and place it on the baking sheet. Bake the star according to the package directions. After it cools, hot glue it to the wood or cork. |
Pendulum You will need: an oblong bead, a pendant, approx. 9" chain (a broken necklace will work great), needlenose pliers one pin head wire (found in bead stores), clippers (I use toenail clippers!), two small beads . Thread the beads onto the pin head wire in this order: small bead, oblong bead, small bead. With the clippers, clip off remaining wire, leaving approx. 3/4" remaining. Using the needlenose pliers, bend the wire holding the beads into a ring and clamp. Open a link on one end of your chain, and thread through the loop you just made.Clamp shut using the pliers. Open the link on the opposite end of your chain, loop through the pendant. Clamp shut. To use the Pendulum, hold the pendant in your hand loosely, elbow on the table, letting the pendulum swing free. Still the movements of the pendulum with your other hand. Ask the pendulum to show you "yes" - the pendulum should start to move in a pattern, usually in a circle or back or forth. If you can't really tell, ask the pendulum to be more precise. Once a pattern is established, this is the Pendulum's "yes." Now, ask the pendulum to show you "no." Keep your pendulum in a safe place, and it will treat you well! |
