People ran back and forth through the spacious hall, tripping over each other and dropping things. Shouts could be heard from all over, and it was incredibly noisy. Trinity huffed, the loud voices mixed together were giving her a headache. She had been in make-up getting ready to go on in 30 minutes, when her make-up artist, Cindi, gave her a bathroom break. She had already went and figured she had 2 or 3 minutes to kill and decided to go try to find Kevin. She wanted to thank him.
"Excuse me!" Trinity said to a short woman running down the hall a stack of papers in her hands. The woman didn't even look up. Just kept on running. "Well!" Trinity said, embarassed, hoping no one saw that. She figured she couldn't get anyone to stop. She decided the best thing would be to just peek in all the rooms really quickly. Eventually, she found the Backstreet Boys dressing room, the door closed, with a big star on the door. Even from outside the door, she could hear the loud noises of frustration coming from the inside. And she thought it was noisy out here! Raising her fist, she knocked loudly on the door.
"Come in!" A female voice yelled. She opened the door only to see chaos. No one even looked up to acknowledge her. They were all very busy. About ten people were lounged on a huge couch, hovering over the small coffee table in front of it, full of papers she assumed needed to be signed. She closed the door behind her, and scanned the room. Confused, she didn;t see any of the Backstreet Boys. It took her a minute to realize that they were buried under 20 people poking at their faces. She couldn't even see them, it was ridiculous! She walked over to each, trying to see over the people. A minute later, she found Kevin, just as all the make-up artists finished with him. "Trinity!" He yelled with surprise, looking shocked she was there. "You...remembered my name." She smiled, thinking it was the greatest thing in the world. He never really talked to her before and she didn't think he even remembered her name. "Well of course I remembered your name. How could I forget our talented opening act who totally blew us away yesterday afternoon?" She blushed. She never blushed. She was a cop. Cops don't blush.
Kevin chuckled. "A blush I see...thats something new." "Sorry...," Trinity started, covering her face with her hand turning away. "I don't usually blush, you just uh, caught me off guard." "Right..." Kevin said, standing up. "So what brings you to my humble dressing room?" "Uh...I wanted to thank you. For what you did yesterday. It was really nice. Your the first person who actually showed some reaction to my prescence. And the advice, it worked really well." "Well your welcome. But just wait till you get out on stage. The view of all those people, screaming, is spetacular." She grinned, trying to ignore the uneasiness in her stomach. The scary part was, most of the butterflies in her stomach weren't for the first performance jitters, it was because she was standing three feet away from Kevin. He was looking at her, and it made her nervous. He was so nice, and incredibly good looking. His masculine features reminded her of Neils. But there was something different about Kevin, he triggered a different kind of feeling in her and she didn't know what that was. With Neils, it was lust, but with Kevin...she had no damn clue what it was.
You know...if he hadn't touched you yesterday, you wouldn't be feeling these weird emotions. This is all his fault you know, now your never gonna get any sleep. Her head told her. Wait, but maybe its just gratitude. Deep gratitude for helping me out. He was the only person who took time to do it on the tour willingly. She tried to reason. Than her heart said, well this sure doesn't feel like gratitude to me, it's something different. Damn. Why was it like this? She was fine in her dressing room. Getting dolled up, listening to her dancers talk about how nervous they were, and exchanging funny stories about other people they worked for with her. It was weird, her and her dancers seemed to be getting along quite well. Ever since she shaped up yesterday. Well than...she thought of the great idea of visiting Kevin. To THANK him. For being wonderful. She wanted to sigh but held it back. She was torturing herself. she felt 15 again. God, that sucked. "Are you okay?" Kevin's voice broke her thoughts. "Huh?" She said, looking up. "You just kind of...fell into a trance, staring at my shoes. You okay?" Kevin explained. "Oh! Oh yeah, psshh! I'm fine. Just you know...first performance and all." "You'll do great. But hey, you better get back to your dressing room, I think you go on soon." Kevin told her. "Okay, I'll see you..." Trinity trailed off. "Yeah, after the show. We'll celebrate!" Kevin said. "Alright." She smiled, leaving the room only to be face to face with Cindi.
"Where the hell have you been??? I've been looking for you everywhere! Your on in ten minutes dearie, and i still have more work to do. What were you doing? Did you have massive diarheaa or something??" Cindi shouted. Trinity's face went bright red for the second time in ten minutes. "Sorry..." Was all she could say as Cindi literally dragged her back to the dressing room. She ignored Cindi's bitching as she quickly finished dolling her up and she kept repeating Kevin's words in her head. "Yeah, after the show. We'll celebrate!"

"Oh my god! I can't believe I just did that! I just spent 35 minutes in front of millions of people in a pink glittery tube top and leather pants dancing around and singing! And they loved it! I was actually...they thought....I was good!" Trinity shouted with glee, popping out from behind the curtains, followed by her dancers. All the Backstreet Boys were standing there, along with Donna and Johnny. They were due to go on in 10 minutes. She turned around hugging each one of her dancers before they went past her telling them how great they were. "Thank you guys so much for being...my dancers! That was so fun!" Everyone's mouth seemed to drop. They'd never seen her like this before. She'd never seen herself like this before. Not even when she was drunk. She was really bubbly. She felt so...hyper. So young, so full. She felt fulfulled, like she did when she caught the bad guy. She nearly jumped on Kevin, throwing her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"Thanks so much Kevin, thanks for the help. This was because of you. Your so great! I feel so great! God, I'm so excited." She was talking a mile a minute, and everybody was really thrown off. Kevin's mouth was still dropped open, and everyone's eyes were still wide with shock. "Is this the same girl who went through that curtain on stage with a frown on her face because she was too scared?" Donna said in wonderment. "Oh god no, this is me fulfilled. It was so great. All of us, after the show. We gotta go somewhere. A club or something. Maybe a really sleazy bar! It'll be so much fun! I'm gonna go get changed, but I'll come around and peak out and watch you guys. You guys are gonna do great!" She started to walk away, but than turned around and threw her arms around A.J., than Howie, than Brian, and even Nick. "Bye!" She said excitedly, running down the hall, doing a cartwheel or two on the way.
"Whoa......." Nick was the first to speak. "Does this seem weird to anyone else?" "I always knew there was something special about Trinity. She's so hot. Wonder why I never noticed it before? I want her." A.J. said, a cheesy grin on his face from the hug. "Pssh! Your gonna have to fight ME for her!" Howie shouted, playfully elbowing A.J. out of his trance. "No way! She's mine!" A.J. shot back. And all Kevin could do was stand there with his mouth hanging open. |
