American Association of University Women

 Vision Statement: AAUW will be a powerful advocate and visible leader in equity and education through research, philanthropy and measurable change in critical areas impacting the lives of women and girls.

Diversity Statement: In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

 

 

The American Association of University Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls.

Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles Branch promotes life long learning through:

 

Ø   monthly branch meetings (Sept to May) with stimulating speakers,

Ø   two monthly book discussion groups,

Ø   Great Decision discussion group,

Ø   monthly bridge group,

Ø   community outreach with scholarships and the Creative Writing Contest,

Ø   and a monthly newsletter [Newsletter] with important connections to national and international programs sponsored by State and National AAUW.

The Association

A 100,000-Member Organization with more than 1,300 branches nationwide, lobbies and advocates for education and equity;

Our commitment to these issues is reflected in our public policy efforts, programs, and diversity initiatives.

AAUW Educational Foundation, which funds pioneering research on girls and education, community action projects, and fellowships and grants for outstanding women around the globe.

The
AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund, which provides funds and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education.
