The
Men's Enlightenment Network
(M.E.N.)
is a casual gathering of men.
It provides a safe place where men can come together,open their hearts and minds and share their thoughts, feelings and needs. We meet weekly to tell our own stories and listen to each other's thoughts, insights and experiences as men. We invite you to celebrate the male spirit with us!
This ministry will be conducted
RELIGION FREE
Your road of faith is unimportant to this process of "Community Building".
We will use some of the techniques described in Dr. M. Scott Peck's book "The Different Drum".
If you are male, you are welcome.
There are no exclusions.
MISSION
To Celebrate the Male Spirit:
Being a man is a wonderful thing.
We are builders, creators,
protectors and lovers.
Without us there are no children.
Calling Men Into Creative Connection
We gather to explore beyond the confines of our individual and
ego-bound natures. We risk giving up the protection of our guarded selves to connect with other men on a level ground. We are all equals here. We do not have to degrade the feminine.
The true masculine honors the true feminine wherever it is found; in our mothers, our daughters, our wives, our lovers and friends and in ourselves and other men. Manhood cannot be truly affirmed if the feminine is denied.
THE RULES
When we gather, when we look into one another's eyes, when we welcome our brothers into the circle, we begin to fill the gaping, empty hole of the Wound. Each man carries his own terrible unique wound, owning it instantly links him with all other wounded men. We self-help. We share our awful secrets. We nod in knowing empathy and give unquestioned support. And we also urge one another on,
past the comfortable point,
into the uncharted areas of pain and shame.
Only by making this individual quest
can we begin to heal.
You are invited to join with other men like you
to begin this new adventure.
