Dear Elizabeth,

I have just been looking at the Blick Family Tree site and note that my grandfather's name has been omitted.

He is a son of James Blick 1826-1889 who married Catherine Currie at Geelong He was Thomas Frederick Blick b.1855 at Amherst. and was drowned in the bay at Geelong and was buried on 26 October 1901 in Geelong, his body not having been identified. After identification his body was exhumed and reburied on 26 October 1901 in Maryborough. (Grave # 2640, Church of England Section.)

He was the second child of James and Catherine.
Thomas Frederick Blick m. Sarah Dean 11 January 1881, in Maryborough. Sarah was born 1 August 1861 in Adelaide Leed and was the daughter of William and Lucy Ellen Dean.
After the fathers death the older boys in the family moved across to New Zealand and eventually Sarah and the girls followed arriving in Bluff and most of the family initially settled in Southland ,N.Z.

When in Australia Sarah and the girls ran a Coffee House or maybe a hotel (my father always called it a Coffee House.)in Havelock or White Hills. Thomas Frederick was I believe a carpenter and was employed erecting pit props in the gold mines in the area.

I have a photograph of a sketch made by one of my uncles back in 1966, from memory, of the old home/hotel . This was the second home on trhe site.the original having been burnt down The train in the foreground apparently ran between Havelock and Maryborough. I will endeavour to send a copy of the photo with this but am not too hopeful as it is all new to me at 82 years of age. Please let me know if there is anything further you require.

Good luck and thanks for the great job you are doing.

Graham Blick

Dear Elizabeth,
I see the name Blick and Aaron amongst the Blick's. I am researching the Blick's of Broad Chalke a Village in Wiltshire near Salisbury (8 miles) I am in contact with one of the descendants of James Blick who arrived in Australia on the ship Larpent in 1847/49. Are your Blick's the ones from this village or as you have visited Gloucestershire the Blick' s of Michinhampton Gloucestershire. The name Arron features in my family tree he was born in Broad Chalke 16.9.1803 son of Lucy Foyle wed 29 JAN 1788 Broad Chalk, Wiltshire, England to Matthew Blick, but I do not have any further trace of him at this time.

Leslie Colin Blick is in my family tree born 23 May 1891 died 25 April 1915 Gallipoli married a Jeanette Harris born 1893 died 1945 in Melbourne Australia.
Best wishes from a wet snowy and windy Birmingham UK
