The vessel named 'John and Lucy' is very hard to find using Google and the Victorian Public Records Office site, where I could not obtain the passenger list, despite finding two passengers. Snippets I found include -
The Liverpool newspaper announced she sailed Liverp-Melb- expected 1858 with 383 Immgts passengers which included Ellen M Upham.
John Metcalfe's daughters Elizabeth and Sarah Metcalfe sailed from Liverpool, England 25 August 1858 aboard the ship "John & Lucy" as assisted immigrants. They were listed as general servants from Limerick, both could read and write. After arriving in Melbourne on the 11 December 1858 they went with James Cranly A. Division Police. James Cranley had resigned from the Irish Constabulary on the 5 April 1857 and had emigrated to Australia where he joined the Victorian Police Force on the 7 August 1857. MCMASTER AGNES 25 DEC 1858 JOHN AND LUCY - Robert Hagan married Agnes McMaster in Ireland in the year of 1857; very soon after Agnes migrated to Australia and rejoined Robert, who was a ships navigator - he jumped ship in Melbourne. The two of them followed the Bendigo gold trail and settled in Lamplough (Central Victoria). Between 1860 and 1873 they had seven children; five boys and two daughters.
