Dear Elizabeth,
I noticed on your web page a reference to a 'John James Blakney' 1895-1961 who has some connection to your ancestors.
[Mary Jane Taylor and Stephen Kerrison's 5th child, Mary Rose Kerrison 5 Sep 1889 - 17 May 1982, married 20 May 1914 to John James Blakney 8 Aug 1895 - 13 Jan 1961 son of Elizabeth Rosendale and William Blakney]

In my line I have a Cyril Blakney, born in North Hobart in the early 1890's and his mother was Elizabeth Blakney. He served in WW1 and married my great aunt, Florence Alice King, in London before returning to Tasmania (around 1918). My Florence Alice was born in Stretford (Manchester) 20 May, 1897. My Florence Alice was in London only during WW1 (serving as a nurse there, tending to injured soldiers). I wonder if you might have any information on the Blakneys -- it is a rather unusual name. I do have a couple of pictures of my Cyril Blakney.

William Brisbane

I have a William Brisbane who married a Mary Ann Kilpatrick. The marriage took place in Maybole Ayrshire in 1855. The only thing is....my William's parents are John Brisbane and Jane Fisher. ( I have a copy of the marriage entry ) William and Mary Ann...with their daughters Jane and Sarah, went to Australia on the ship Commodore Perry in August 1859.

So I discovered the 'Commodore Perry' came Aug 1859 with Assisted British Immigrants to Victoria, including William Brisbane 23, Mary 21, Jane 3 and Sarah 1.

Catherine died at Castlemaine soon after her daughter Cath, and although her maiden name was known for Cath, it was not known when her death was registered. This suggests that John died first.
