Mitten

Charles Mitten (Mitton) 1837 - 3 Sep 1915, and his brother Andrew Mitten 1846 - 8 Feb 1926, were born at Nockininney, County Fermanagh, Ireland, sons of Mary Ann McCormick and Thomas Mitten. Both tried their skills as miners in the Tarnagulla district before Andrew became a storekeeper and Charles became a farmer.

Charles Mitten wed 1870 to Isabella Patterson 1853 - 6 Mar 1912, daughter of Isabella Howie and William Patterson.
