Last summer my husband and I went camping with my son’s
family. When we arrived at the state park and set up our
camp it was late on Friday evening. We looked up and saw
deer grazing just a few yards away from where we were
setting up our camp. They were just a beautiful site so I got
my camera and took pictures.

That night we cooked hamburgers on an open grill and they
were so tasty. Then we settled back in our lawn chairs by
the camp fire. Suddenly we saw a skunk walking around in
our campsite. He went over by the campfire and was eating
the small pieces of hamburger meat that had fallen through
the grill. He just keep walk around the grill and swishing his
bushy tail all around the fire. We enjoyed watching this but
was so afraid his tail would catch on fire and he’d get
excited. And you know what a skunk does when he gets
excited! [laugh] After a while the skunk had eaten all the
meat he wanted and he just walked away to our relief. Yes,
I got my camera and took pictures of the skunk too.

We then roasted some marshmallows over the fire and my
daughter-in-law, Becky, got out some brownies she had
made. About that time we spotted a raccoon just outside our
campsite. We knew he was looking for something to eat also.
I tossed him a pretzel I had been eating but he didn’t seem to
want that. Becky gave him one of her brownies and he ate it
up. He then came right up to Becky’s lawn chair begging for
another brownie, which she gave him. I guess raccoons must
have a sweet tooth. [laugh again] I again used my camera to
get some pictures of the raccoon.

After that long day it was time to get some sleep. All night
long we could hear all the critters rambling around in our
camp. We had left out our supper scraps for them to eat.

I got up early on Saturday morning and when I got out of
our camper I saw some other campers feeding corn to the
deer out of a bucket. The deer were so tame they came right
up to eat and I went back into the camper for my camera.

After everyone got up we started cooking breakfast on our
butane stove and watching the squirrels playing in the grass
and running up and down the trees. Off course I had to take
some more pictures.[ laugh out loud]

After breakfast we went down to the lake. My grandson fed
the ducks some bread as we watch them swimming on the
water and I took pictures. I spent the day enjoying all God’s
creatures, playing with my grandson, and just relaxing in
the shade on that warm summer day. I took a lot of pictures.

When evening came we packed up our truck and headed for
home. We had a good time just getting away from the house
and getting to see all of God’s natural wonders. I had taken
a bunch of pictures to remember our camping trip and the fun
time we had all had.
