I'm back home for the rest of the summer, which is making it difficult to update this site, despite my motivation.  My parents are the type that wait 10 years to follow any trends in technology.  (We got cable two years ago -- imagine our excitement.)  Needless to say, we don't have a broadband connection.  We don't even have a separate phone line for the computer.  I won't use that as an excuse, however, for the lack of content in the next couple of months.  Instead, I'll pardon myself by saying that I'm going to be redesigning the site again.  I appreciate all of the compliments I've gotten on the current layout from you faceless strangers.  But alas, it isn't very efficient and I will be rectifying that.

And I've been meaning to mention the whole Pledge-of-Allegiance-is-Unconstitional thing.  Gawd.  I used to think about that a lot.  When I was in grade school I used to let my little mind rummage through the inconsistencies of "the system" -- how the rules never seem to apply to the grown-ups or reflect reality.  Of course, I was too young to think of it as a system.  And I was too young to call it hypocrisy.

I'm baaack....

As you may have noticed (or not), I've been on hiatus for a while. Well, that's not entirely true.  Yes, I haven't updated this site in a long time, but no, I haven't been completely devoid of a creative outlet for my writing.  The words just weren't pretty, witty, shameless or acceptable enough for the public.  Dark times.  Having an audience is a little disconcerting.  I never really thought that I'd open this little novela of everyday whimsy to my friends.  And even though I made myself so available, I didn't think that the faceless beings who happened upon the story  would make contact to tell me so.  What I'm getting at is that I've realized that I can't seem to make myself use this as an avenue for the dissection of my soul.  Understandably so, I believe.  We'll see what I come up with.

My parents used to encourage my siblings and I to squash caterpillars with sticks.  I did not participate.
