| 09-12-2002 STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static recently revealed plans for the group to enlist some very special guests to appear the band's third full-length album, due next summer. "I asked Dimebag Darrell of PANTERA to do a lead on the record and asked Aaron from STAIND to sing on a song," Static told Metal Hammer magazine. "Whether all this happens or not, it's all speculation." Wayne also indicated that the forthcoming CD would be very different from the band's previous outings. "Since Machine was a lot heavier than our first record, Wisconsin Death Trip, the third record will go the other way," Static joked. "It's gonna be all acoustic love ballads. We kept our integrity last time, so next time we're totally gonna sell out — it'll all be radio hits. We have to keep the radio people happy, too… just like the hardcore metalheads. We have a lot of people to keep happy. "We're going to take the rest of the year off to write," Wayne added. "It's not easy to write acoustic love ballads, We're gonna have to work really hard to write all those acoustic songs… buy some acoustic guitars." |
| 10-05-2002 Tripp Eisen has finally spoken out about his departure from the MURDERDOLLS, the group he formed with SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison (who plays guitar in the band), singer Wednesday 13, bassist Erik Griffin, and drummer Ben Graves. The following is Tripp's official statement regarding his decision to leave the group: "To all MURDERDOLLS fans, "Tripp here. I made an announcement back in July that I will not be on the upcoming MURDERDOLLS tours. Due to an agreement I had with the band and management I did not announce publicly what the future held for me in the MURDERDOLLS. My announcement now comes with many fans saying, 'No shit, I already knew this.' Fans are very aware & in touch with the music business these days. "Scheduling with work on the next STATIC-X CD overtook & conflicted with the touring plans of the MURDERDOLLS. It's that simple. I really wish the guys well and feel a great sense of accomplishment with the finished product. The band and the CD are kicking ass all over the world. The MURDERDOLLS is a monster that I helped to craft with my hands, heart and soul over the past 2 years. I truly wish I could be next to my fellow ghouls, but I have a mission to accomplish that takes precedence (I've entered the creative realm of evil disco with Wayne, Ken & Tony). "My former DOPE bandmate, Acey Slade, enters the fold: he was always in the running for THE REJECTS & MURDERDOLLS. I tried to get him into the band a bunch of times! So he was the logical choice to come in and fill the void. I say to all of them: make me proud, brothers. The world is watching & waiting for you to kick their ass and they can be very unforgiving. There are many battles ahead. Hail & Kill." |
