Our Pride

A year has gone by yet the pain is still there the sorrow I would not release yet today, its released at full force

Can you feel the pain I can, as I drive to my destination My emotions are assulted By the pain of those that were lost A great sorrow takes over as the unshed tears are finaly released, No one sees them yet I feel we will all shed those much needed tears

Can you feel the panic As I drive I can feel the panic All seems to move in slow motion As if all sharing the same sense of hopelessness All are aware of the tragedy that we are reliving yet nothing can be done to change what happened

Can you feel the pain I can As I drive to my destination My emotions start to feel that immense pain of 9/11

As my destination approaches I recall that one moment when lives were taken senselessly I recall the lives that were given freely without selfishness without thoughtThe pain will forever be there The hopelessness will forever remain Yet today marks the start of a new beging A time to remember those That gave their lives in hopes to save another

Today my pain becomes hope my panic, becomes peace That sense of feeling That comes from knowing That my country has People that will gladly give their lives to safe and protect My own and those of my loved ones

A sesnse of peace Knowing that today Our nation has grown stronger They did not acomplish what was to be the distruction of a united nation They did not break that sense of freedom we value and give freely

This was a wake up call And awake we are, for now our sense of despair has become

Our Pride of 9/11
