Game Info
-That's one long title!  Well, anyways, this is the first 3-D Spongebob game.  THQ has made a great representation of Spongebob's world and its style.  It's not the best, though, so don't expect beautifully drawn worlds and characters.

Gameplay: B
Spongebob is a traditional platformer where you have to collect a lot of things.  It resembles Donkey Kong 64 in a lot of ways.  One, you'll have to find different things with different costumes Spongebob puts on, much like changing monkeys in DK64.  Spongebob's costumes include a jellyfishing suit, a reef-blower, and a Mermaidman costume.  Each has different abilities and its own theme song.  Another resemblence to DK64 is its over-reliance on collecting.  You'll need to collect over 2,000 doubloons (yes, 2,000) and over 1,000 jellyfish and tons of dollar bills to successfully complete the game.  It's kindof of fun, but a change of pace is needed.
The levels Spongebob goes into are very big and are preceded by an overly long loadtime.  The levels are very abstract and reminiscent of Banjo-Kazoie and Tooie.  The most impressive level is a run down theme park made by Plankton filled with roller coasters, a ferris wheel, and other attractions.  Spongebob has a list of things to do in each world (usually around 10 things), and once he completes them all, a easy little puzzle game follows.  The puzzle's answer will lead you to one of the many Dutchman's personal belongings (such as his smelly sock).
Spongebob will interact with many of the show's regulars, such as Patrick, Sandy, and Squidward.  They are all voiced by the originals, which is a big plus.  The game has some of the show's funniness, but not a lot.  This is still a great game for Spongebob fans.

Graphics: C
The overall graphics are very smooth and non-detailed.  Some places can look really pretty, though.  Spongebob and friends are modeled well and almost look exactly like the show.  The framerate sometimes dips, but not a lot.

Sound: C+
The original actors voiced Spongebob and friends in the game, like said above.  The background music is the most disappointing, though, because it only depends on what costume you're in, so there is only 4 tracks.  They are nice tracks, though.  Only a few levels in the game have their own background music and do not depend on what costume you're in.

Challenge: C
There are some frustrating moments in the game, like not knowing how far to jump, or not landing on what you think is a surface.  Most of the game though is pretty easy.

Replay: C+
The many things to collect adds to the total replay of about 20 hours.  You might want to play through it again, too.

Overall: 80%
"The perfect game for Spongebob fans."
