Diamond

Time stopping for my everyone,
But my seconds keep flying by.
I’ll ask your silly questions,
But I won’t stop to ask you why.
You will keep me guessing in your game,
Don’t you dare forget I let you say my name.
But after all, I’m the one who fell,
God forbid you to join my hell.

She’s a diamond on a ring, on a finger in a dream,
Lies are perfect for my ears, as long as they’re real to seem.
Finding me just a little less broken, that’s the tricky part,
Eyeing my blind like a little soft-spoken, stinging right to the heart.

Put me at a place that’s not your fault,
I won’t blame you to play your part.
Rock and a hard place seem to dwell,
But its not like problems are clear as bells.
So I’ll give it a day like I gave it before,
Crossing my fingers that this time you’ll be sure.
But maybe this time there’ll be a surprise,
Like a look of certainty behind those big blue eyes.

She’s a diamond on a ring, on a finger in a dream,
Nights come and go like and hot cold the stars go dim then gleam.
But taking a chance is a little bit harder, you’re like an angel to me,
Most people come across an angel, it’s hard enough to breath.

Fighting back what I know is right,
But you and I see me in a different light.
Hey, I’m not dead, you know I’ll be fine,
Just disappointed that I can’t call you mine.
So here’s to you and the choice you made,
I’ll pull back just like you said.
But you better believe that there’s still this part,
This lingering feeling of you in my heart.

She’s a diamond on a ring, on a finger in a dream,
Yes there’s hope but by so quick, nothing as it seems.
Holding out for a passing vision, living by it’s side,
I’ll riddle prettily inside your ear, and then will my time bide.
