In October 1999, days before his wedding, Chris E. was back in PA and sent his traverse problem on the eastern side of the creek. The result was Frigidaire Cold Control V8/9. What's that area called? Ecksandstein?

Nice site guys. I am rather a newbee to the world of rock climbing and repeling so I need some tech advise on all these fancy words, "Project Boulder Problem" and "Crag." Well lets just say i need to take lessons.... The few times I did climb it was top roped. Made me feel good. Anyhow, there are some rocks in Derry twp on the ridge called High Rocks, They got shut down I think. Well one day we had two ropes top roped and were both over the side when we heard beer bottles being thrown down over the edge. Needless to say we were one for the day. And I think we arn't aloud there any more? Well it used to be a nice place!?!? Keep the rocks comin....

Nice job on the site. Although I don't do much climbing at The Mills (the drive is just too far when I've got all the rock I'd ever need within a 1/2 hr. of home and the shop). Its nice to see someone else doing their part to inform local climbers of the potential that SWPA has. It amazes me to see the crowds at Krahlick Rocks on the weekends when there's sooooo much unclimbed and better rock out there. I hope that local climbers take the iniative to explore the woods of our area and find the great stuff thats out there. Its well worth the effort! Keep up the good work! I'm sure I'll see you on the rock soon.

I've been going to "The Mill" since about 1967. A lot of broken time due to school & service. I'm old and out of shape but bring Scouts up for intro to climbing regularly. I've been doing that since the 70's. My biggest problem is "Looky Loo's." I've seen women in heels & dresses, little kids unescorted, and drunken teens just push through us while we're belaying. I've also had them tamper with gear, and hang precariously directly over a climber enroute up. (I've also administered first aid and helped carry some of the same out of there). Any warning signs available to stay clear of climbers, cliff edges, no climbing unless equiped. It's amazing; you can't put your toe in the water at a state park, but you can do anything on their rocks. I fear injury to a non-climber will eventually restrict us all. I love the proposals listed from Access Fund. How can we help get some of these things done? As a Scouting organization we are continually involved in outdoor community service projects. I write good letters to politicians too.

Good to see that the "common" climber is vilified by bouldering the unglamourous piles. Only then can truly great lines like "Mantlevention" and "Traverse of the Sodomites" be appreciated. Koodos to those Mill bouldering greats (you know who you are) for downplaying what must be an incredible affirmation of climbing enormity.
