Impala’s Oscar Osir has been recalled to captain Kenya’s team to the 200/4 International Rugby Board (IRB) World Sevens circuit scheduled for December 3-5 in Dubai.

Osir will be assisted by Newton Ongalo of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). Others in the squad are Benjamin Ayimba, Kanyi Gitonga, Ian Simiyu, Allan Wamanga and Mitch Ocholla.

Osir last captained Kenya Sevens in March this year during the Hong Kong Sevens where Kenya upset Australia 15-12. He was later dropped from the sevens squad to enable him concentrate on the fifteens. this saw him miss the Mosi Sevens, and the Safari Sevens in June this year.

In Dubai, Kenya is pooled alongside Australia, South Africa and Zambia while in South Africa, Kenya will battle Fiji, Australia and Zambia in the preliminary round.

After the Dubai event, the team will proceed to South African for the second sevens series planned for December 13-14 in the town of George.

According to Kenya Rugby Football Union (KRFU), the team will then travel to Wellington, New Zealand for the third leg between February 6-7 before connecting to United States for the fourth leg between February 14-15 in Los Angeles.

Hong Kong sevens Scheduled for March 14-15 will be Kenya’s next stop. The locals will, however, skip the Singapore Sevens set for April 3-4.
