Keum-Bee's got great ears, too!

We do not often open the door of our minds to people
other than true friends.

By my way of thinking, between friends there should
not be any discomfort and lying¡¦

I have lived with Keum-Bee for more than a year,
in the same room;
and I came to like her very much,
as I get along with her closely

I am really happy, whenever I see her,
because she always shows her smile, so brightly.

Moreover,
I could learn how to express myself, by talking with her;
because,
her ears were always given to me; and
sitting by my side,
she always tried to understand me.

She is always my trustworthy friend.

What's behind this painting?
By Lee Keum-Bee 5th Wave Minjok, Sophomore

If you saw this picture close up, in living color, maybe some of you would think that the colors of the picture are too strong, and that there's no topic to it.

Well¡¦ actually, you are right

But those strong colors and non-topical images show my feelings, at that time. While I was doing this painting, I was quite upset about myself. I had had some very troublesome matters on my mind, and I was tired of dealing with them. Even I thought that I am a terrible girl. I had no solution to get out of those blue, blue feelings. But, I really wanted to get out.

I just happened to have an extra art class. We always did 'photoshop.' But just to get out of that feeling, I started to go with brushes and real paint. I wanted to do something to show my feelings-upset, depressed, blue¡¦ And I wanted to clear my mind.

So, in my picture, that green image means my unhappiness and those upset feelings. And the red flowers on the green image symbolize my new start; like my hope or happiness.

It can be a poor work to others; because I have very little knowledge about art, and I have poor skills, in general. But this picture helped me a lot. After I drew this one, I sort of started all over, again.

And now I think I am doing quite fine, whether or not others think that I am really quite foolish.
