Bramble lived with us for 3 years and like the plant, was very prickly and unruly! We adopted Bramble through our vets (he was an unwanted pet) as a brother for Daisy. He didn’t like cuddles much but would tolerate a stroke, this may have been his natural temperament or a result of how he had been treated in the past. Bramble adored his big sister, Daisy and loved being groomed by her. Bramble was the most adventurous and brave of the bunnies, exploring anywhere and everywhere he could!! If the door was open Bramble would go through it - very much like his big brother George. Bramble could be found anywhere in the house if allowed, as he was a master at hopping up and down stairs. Since living with Daisy he did calm down, as now he had responsibilities. Daisy and Bramble's introduction was very steady, smooth and stress free - they loved each other immediately. Other than Daisy, Bramble's best friend was our cat, Clovis. Clovis loved to watch Bramble in the garden and in the house, he seemed to enjoy his company. In return Bramble was not scared or intimidated by Clovis.
Bramble was the young adelescent of the bunny house, but was eager to learn from his bunny elders. Bramble was always so strong and healthy and so it was such an incredible shock when we found him dead in his zoo zone. He hadn't seemed ill at all, however I had noticed some dark red coloured wood chippings in the litter tray. I had put this down to just darker urination but it may have been something more serious, internally. After Bramble died this colouring didn't happen again so it may have been a sign of something wrong inside him. I'm sure Bramble would have mellowed if he'd been allowed to reach old age. He was a fine example of a young buck, who never learned to live by the bunny rules of the house!
