* No errors in: capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and gramar.
* Writer provides information directly from the text that is properly cited. (2 quotes from both tasks)
* Writer consistently provides language choices to enhance the text.
* Writer provides accurate, specific, purposeful information that is extended and expanded to fully explain topic.
* Writer establishes an organizational plan and consistently maintains it.
An 'A' Paper
* Writer provides information that adequately explains the topic with some extension of ideas.  The information is usually accurate and purposeful.
* Writer establishes an organizational plan but may have minor errors in maintaining it.
* Writer provides information directly from the text that is properly cited.
* Writer frequently provides language choices to enhance the text.
* A few errors in: capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and gramar.
A 'B' Paper
* Writer provides information that inadequately explains the topic.  The information is sometimes accurate, general or extraneous.
* Writer generally establishes and maintains an organizational plan.
* Writer provides some information from the text which may be properly cited.
* Writer sometimes uses language choices to enhance the text.
* Some errors in: capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and gramar.
A 'C' Paper
* Writer provides insufficient  information to explain the topic.  The information may be vague and inaccurate.
* Writer either did not establish an organizational plan, or it is only minimally maintained.
* Writer did not provide information from the text that is properly cited.
* Writer seldom, if ever, uses language choices to enhance the text.
* Many errors in: capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and gramar.
